The Mi'Kmaq Nation - A Story of Survival

Published 2021-06-08
This short documentary, The Mi’kmaq Nation, Story of Survival, was made on the occasion of the 400th Anniversary of the baptism of Grand Chief Membertou, of the Mi’kmaq First Nations Tribe of Nova Scotia.

Before Divine Renovation Ministry was founded, the organization existed as a media production ministry called The John Paul II Media Institute, also founded by Fr. James Mallon. Fr. James was the director and one of the producers of this documentary. We are making it available now to help shed light on the painful chapter in Canadian and Church history involving the residential school system for aboriginal children.
