Bernie Mac was funny as hell but 1000% honest. He said what many are too afraid to say.

I remember when Bernie passed away. August 9th 2008, Saturday. I was driving my Girlfriend (now Wife) to the Airport so she could fly back to Maine for Summer Break and stay with her older Sister. We were both Students at UCLA, It came on the radio that: "Comedian Bernie Mac has passed away" the night before. I was immediately upset, I literally pulled over and got out of the car for a couple minutes. I didn't cry or nothing because I would NEVER cry in front of my Wife, but I was dizzy and nauseated a little, like a punch in the gut. I got it together, and got her to the Plane on time. It's one of those times where you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard about it. You might ask yourself: "Why does a White Kid get so upset about Bernie McCullough passing away?" It's because I met him a couple of times in L.A. when I was playing Baseball as a Rookie at UCLA. He was a very Wise and Warm, Intelligent Man. He knew the game, well. R.I.P. Uncle Bernie. 'Half Steppin' made all the difference. We will meet again.. someday🕯
