David Sanborn was a superlative musician, who carried on the tradition of great American music, and a warm, witty, host of a truly great tv show. He will certainly be missed. Thank you, David!!!

Not only the supreme music, but also the awkward, unrehearsed real banter makes this series so charming and enduring. R.I.P. David
  • Dianne Reeves and David Peaston "Stormy Monday Blues", OMG! just so unbelievably great! The Sunday Night band was awesome too!

22:05 Rest in peace, David Sanborn!! We lost him this past Sunday (12 May 2024) after a long battle with prostate cancer.

@ crosscurrentjazz. I appreciate so much that you included my name as one of the guests on this great show along side Dizzy, Dianne and David. Peace - Onaje Allan Gumbs

DIZZY, Diane, David & Onaje! Love it when 3 generations of jazz legends got together and jam on a tv show. The memories, you can't ever get them back. Those who were there back then are gone today. Thank you for achieving it to YouTube. 🥲🥲

This was awesome TV!!! So good seeing my brother man Onaje Allan Gumbs in this historic footage!!!
  • Mr. John Birks Gillespie was one of the giants of jazz for a reason - so good to see him perform on this! Like all of the greats of the golden age of jazz, he's gone beyond, to play in The Deity's big band (except for Sonny Rollins, who's still with us).
