  • I love in the gardening community that no one dislikes videos. Gardeners are awesome. Just love and plants

11:50 pepper plants can get huge in tropical climates! I've actually seen a few pepper "trees" around here. They're gorgeous when they're loaded with fruit

The long format video is really nice. Its nice to hang in a so cal garden while its too rainy up here in the PNW lol. I seems like a good way to diversify what you offer from other gardening channels and find your specific niche.

Perfect timing, I was just looking at my 4 month old japanese eggplant yesterday and decided to try and overwinter it, thanks!

my peppers have been sleeping in my house all winter, watered maybe once a month. coming up on spring I was wondering about planting them again and found this video. Thanks! I had no idea my eggplants could've done it...darn, I had some really good chinese eggplant plants last year. hopefully this year they'll be healthy too and I can try next winter.

I came back to review this, I'm determined to have peppers and eggplants earlier in the season 2023. Thanks for all the tips.
  • You don't need to remove Eggplant after 3 years because it is self propagating, like Strawberry. Let the new branches that come right out of the ground, grow. Eventually you can cut down only the old branches.

Thanks, Jacques! All my pepper plants were very productive this year and I didn't want to just rip them out. I very much appreciate the step by step guide on how to overwinter them!

Did not know you can overwinter eggplant. I’ve overwintered peppers before. I am definitely gonna try this. ❤

I over winter my peppers and I live in MN. I brought them inside and put them by windows that get a fair bit of sunlight throughout the day. They have been inside about a month and already a lot of them are growing new leaves and trying to come out of dormancy. Its fairly easy and Jacques does a great job describing the process

I had this dilemma this year. I decided against it because I don't have a garage and we do get snow. Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to all your videos.
  • @sj6919
Very, very helpful to those of us in zone 10.
  • @lindasoaft9303
Thanks Jacques. I leave my peppers in the ground and they do well. My eggplant (in grow pot) I grew this year; however is growing fruit. I guess I’ll be cutting it back! So sad😢 thanks for all the info! I’m really getting a better understanding about gardening!

This was the greatest video EVER!!!!! This is the first year I am going to experiment with “overwintering” anything. You answered all my questions and more!
  • @sandyh7309
Thanks Jacques! I can't wait to try this for my pepper plants next season!
  • I still have a ghost chili from 2013. Save about 20-25 peppers each year, under a couple shop lights. Think containers are the way to go with peppers overall bc of that. I only cut back most of the foliage. Seems to work fine with a couple leaves on it.
  • @st2778
Thanks Jacques! I'm looking forward to overwintering my eggplant this year in my Zone 9a area.
  • Perfect timing for me to watch as I live in Sydney Australia. I grew eggplant for the second time this year but never knew they were not perennial so pulled it out last winter. Now I know what to do in a month or two.
  • @vonries
That's cool. I knew peppers worked fine; I already do that. However I didn't know about eggplant. That gives me just enough reason to go ahead and grow some. Thanks.
  • @GeauxGrow
Thanks for this info. I will try to overwinter my eggplants this year. 💚
