It's not an accusation, the soldiers under his command have stated without hesitation that he bailed on them as soon as he found out his unit was being deployed to Iraq. He is a coward and a liar.

I am a former Marine. I had active duty for six years. I received orders to Vietnam, and I was blessed to have them changed to headquarters company, office of the staff, judge advocate, legal section, and stayed on the east coast of the United States. I am combat trained, I am not a combat veteran.

I've had several veterans tell me they served but never saw combat. This guy is a disgrace. He abandoned his troops, and he abandoned Minneapolis when it needed him most.

I was an active-duty Marine during Vietnam era, but they sent me to Cuba...I make sure people know I was not sent to Vietnam because they immediately assume you were. He should not have said anything like that.
