CCA#25 "What's Cookin'?" from "The Haunt Of Fear #12" (April 1952)

Published 2019-02-27
A lone drifter enters a restaurant owned by two destitute proprietors. Knowing their restaurant is a complete failure, the drifter makes them a proposition. The two men are sold on the man's restaurant idea, focusing on being a speciality chicken restaurant, and offering to work for free until a hefty profit is made. The chicken restaurant becomes a huge success, but with that success comes greed.

Adapted for a 1993 episode with guest stars, including the late Christopher Reeve, Bess Armstrong, Art La Fleur, Judd Nelson, and Meat Loaf as the landlord who threatens to close down the restaurant if he doesn't get his rent money.

I suppose it's a little too late for Herman and Charlie to save face! Talk about a flesh in the pan! I guess that's what happens when you butcher money where your mouth is. As for me, kiddies, I say it's time for taps. Mmmm. 'Till next time, restaurateur in peace.
