I recently got my FIRST Blackstone griddle and as I type "how to use griddle?" YOUR video popped up and now I'm HOOKED thank you miss Betty💜🙏🏾

Got my Blackstone 36in griddle for father's day and I'm in love with it.

Tip #6 is my new favorite step. I never used to do this. Quick wipe down with water and a thin layer of oil on the entire griddle before cooking makes so much sense to keep the griddle clean and evenly seasoned.
  • Betty, Your videos are always inspiring! You make me feel like trying something new on my griddle every time I watch you. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your enthusiasm.

A tip I learned that I love is to take a loaf of sliced bread and place it over your griddle. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, flip the bread, and it'll tell you where your hot spots are

Just bought my Blackstone and SO ready to get started.

I cook every Saturday evening. I've cooked with charcoal and with in-direct heat, I finally got use to a gas grill and cooked for years on it. I have a master built smoker that I don't use near as much anymore since I bought a Blackstone 36". I'd rather cook on it than anything else. Thanks for the heads up on the onions. Good Idea. My son-in-law has one also and has rust issues. He bought one with the Blackstone lid and I noticed there is a huge area for air to get to the griddle when not in use. We live in the humid South. So I opted for a custom aluminum cover that lays close to the top edges. I don't have those issues. I also bought a heavy duty plastic tote that just fits on the shelf under the griddle to store anything needed to cook on the griddle . Like I said before, I really like cooking on my griddle!

I just bought my FIRST Blackstone griddle and I absolutely cannot wait to cook kabobs on it!!! Thanks for the tips and tricks, can't wait to get searing!!
  • Welcome to the Blackstone family! Love Blackstone products. We have had our BS Griddle since 2015, gave it to my husband for his birthday. He still uses it everyday, although we have 4 more BS griddles in various sizes, as well as the E series indoor griddle. We have loved BS for a long time and it’s our go to grill for our every day use. My best tip is to use it often and it seasonings itself more and more after each use. Don’t get discouraged if food sticks on the first couple uses, just keep cooking. Season it well, clean it properly, keep it away from water, treat it like your favorite cast iron pan and it will treat you well for years to come. BS YouTube is your friend for great recipes and cleaning tips.

Thank you! I just bought a blackstone and am looking forward to it.

Yes, thank you very much. The sulfur is a catalyst for the esterification reaction which provides a wonderful coating on the surface
  • My son bought me a 36 Omni, so excited to start using it! Following your seasoning video .

Scrapers are the best!! Also it’s hard to mess up a griddle - just keep cooking and trying new stuff! Love the air fryer too - just awesome.
  • @bobcatthomack1
I just got mine today... will be seasoning and baptizing tomorrow! I am so excited about this thing!

Great tips Betty. Having everything ready b4 hand is paramount. The term for this is Mise en place.
  • @delsurf71
Not a new Blackstone owner but the pre-oiling food tip was new to me. Not sure how I missed that. Thanks.
  • Hi BB . I agree with having everything ready before you head out to the Blackstone but in my situation it’s better to do most things on my Patio. I do most of the cooking which my wife loves but I’m messy. When I cut up veggies it gets ugly inside especially Cabbage. I cut it outside & I use my leaf blower to clean up .
