  • a couple of common questions answered: Why did you say "tinfoil" while you were building? I said tinfoil out of habit but at 54 seconds in I give the supplies list and say, "you need aluminum foil". The supplies list, the description box, and my blog, all call for aluminum foil. I did say tin in this video while building,, oops, it was a mistake. Yes, you are right, it's called aluminum foil. I have done my best to break the habit tho and I’ve managed to keep the word tinfoil out of my videos since. 😅 How much foil did I use? I didn't measure but definitely less than 40 feet. I actually want to say about 20 - 30 but it's safer to guess beyond that. How much you use will depend on the size of tree you make. I used the cheapest foil I could find, you do not need heavy duty foil. Can I paint the inside chamber where the light goes? Absolutely! I did paint one of mine black in case I didn't use tissue paper. It worked out fabulous. Can I add more branches? You can add on and take away anything you want to. This is a project you can do just about anything with. Have fun!
  • This woman is one of the best craft teachers I've found on youtube. She not only explains clearly what she's doing and what materials she's using, but she also gives you different options on other materials and methods that will either work the same, or give you different effects depending on what you want. Fantastic stuff!
  • Well, thanks a lot. Now I have to quit my job so I can addictively binge on ALL of your videos and then do all 183,736 projects that popped into my poor brain ASAP!!! Liked, subscribed, and shared! 💖

Sharon, you are a treasure! I have used a couple of your crochet patterns in the past, and now I am working on my second spooky tree. I am in awe of your creativity and your kindness in sharing your processes with us! Many thanks.

What a great tutorial! Not only does it cater to people with a similar skill level but this illustrates how ANYONE can make this spooky tree and it will still turn out looking awesome, and with very inexpensive materials. Love the look of the finished craft and inspired to make one. I've been a paper mache-er for over 16 years and love the texture you got from the paper towel. Really well done! Subscribed!
  • Really creative!! I never imagined you could make something so amazing from aluminum foil, paper towels, tape and glue!! And you are a great teacher!!

What a great little project! I, also, appreciate the way you give directions. You speed up when appropriate and explain when needed. I don't always find posts where I can follow to a Tee what they are doing, but I find your directions easy to follow, especially when you explained about the arms drying with the glue and then becoming soggy agsin after painting. If I didn't know I might panic. Thanks for your inspiration!

I’m from England and I love that Americans go all out for the different holidays lol. People only decorate their houses for Halloween if they’re having a party around my area. We tend to do a pumpkin, that’s it lol.
