Honestly Adventures in Science sounded pretty cool. Not Space Mountain cool but still cool.

The old opening!

I am fortunate to have visited Disneyland in 1972. Tomorrowland was a much more sophisticated, intelligent land where you could be amazed by wonders explored through science. The actual experience of Journey Through Innerspace was good, but the idea of being shrunk down to see atoms was thrilling.

Thieves Market is redundant when you already have a square dedicated to Edison.

This video was a Historical Work of Disney Art.... Really. Perfect information vs humor ratio. I still remember "as a real small kid" walking through 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and walking around the Bathroom of the Future "boring." And we still go to Disneyland to this day.... Thanks for your time, hard work and posting.

I always loved seeing the old Skyway chalet on the hill above Fantasyland. It had the cute Bavarian style that I love and seeing it tucked away in the trees felt so mysterious.
-
Yay, a map from the year I was born!!! Adventure through inner space was a free ride, no ticket required so my very frugal dad had us ride it a couple of times a visit. LOL
-
The OG Intro is back!!!

I rode 20k leagues in '76 in Magic Kingdom as a little kid (5 years old) and was completely convinced we were in a real submarine really under water, though I remember thinking the fish, giant squid and all that were plastic robots. Hell of a ride.

The Plaza Inn is on the other side of the street, next to Tomorrowland. The restaurant next to Adventureland was called Plaza Pavilion

Funny thing, we have a Vintage Disneyland TV Dinner Tray, It looks to be around 1955 or 1956 as there is no copyright date on it. On the front it just says "Copyright Walt Disney Productions." And on the back it says "California Metalware Corporation, El Segundo California." But it is way before the subs and Matterhorn.

I loved your Tron joke!!! Your short little comments are great!

I’ve recently found this channel and I can’t get enough. Keep it up

18:27 I remember riding Adventures Through Inner Space, that was one of my favorite rides when I was a kid.

Thank you for this video. I have an original 58 c poster in my office and spend lots of time studying it. Love the editing too. LOL.

Liberty street/International street actually saw the light of day, the plans were given to Kunizuo Matsuo and it was built for the planned Nara Disneyland before being changed for Nara Dreamland, sadly this area of the park was demolished in part (the harbour) in early 80s and the rest in the late 90s for the construction of the aska coaster, the buildings were almost the same as in the concept wich is impressive to see what anaheim park could have looked like !

Is it just me or I have not seen this opening in so LONG!!
-
Ah, Adventures Thru Inner Space was way cool. We went on it in the 60's many, many times. The Omnimover concept was way fun, and the ending, when the snowflake melted (uh, no raindrop, it was a snowflake), was cool. The eye ball was creepy. Good stuff. Do you have the other two maps from 1958? That predates my visits by three years.

Can I get "No imagination here, just cold, hard reality!" On a t-shirt?
-
Great stuff. I can't stop thinking about how cool a Disneyland VR Time Machine could be. Where you could pick a year and see the park as it was at the time. I think Disney could make a fortune off of something like that.
