Akademiks GOES OFF on Joe Budden for his opinion on Xxxtentacion

Ok, I just listened to Joe's podcast before watching this video and I'm convinced AK didn't even listen to what Joe was saying.

It's like ak stops listening before people even finish their sentences.

Ak is lost. He didnt hear or learn a thing.

Ak.... I just saw a video of you being mad at X for talking to Dom. Then go on to say that if he crosses you, you will report every negative story on X that comes out. Don't act oblivious to you having a platform that perpetuates and heightens negativity... Thats the argument here!

They did not blamed AK. They were saying that he enjoys reporting on this type of drama. Now he's shook cause it's real and he knew xxx. He reported on other rappers passing, saying "chiraq demons" and acting excited about hood drama. Those people had friends who were hurt too. But AK still spoke on it like it was reality t.v.

Joe wasn't saying it's street shit. He CLEARLY said when rappers get famous, it's time to move out of the city they grew up in. The people you've lived around your entire life know you, some of them dislike you, and some of them see you as a target to be robbed or violated in some way. Even IF [and I mean IF] this shit was random, you can almost guarantee these dudes knew who X was and that put him on their radar. If X was living out in the Hollywood hills somewhere this wouldn't have happened. Joe wasn't saying it was X's fault, but to not recognize that people around you have a crabs-in-a-barrel mentality is to put yourself in danger.

When Joe said to AK about X "They gon hurt him" AK responded with "That's on him" Some friend.....

That's not what Joe said. What he said was, "Akademiks said that if something happens to him (XXX), it's on him." Joe said this because of Akademik's antics in the media surrounding this young man's death. Joe got mad at Peter R. because Peter R brought up the tragedy on his sports talk radio station & the first thing out of Peter's mouth on a conservative sports talk radio station when asked who XXX is, was "He was no angel." As if the fact that "he was no angel," justified his death. If anything, Joe defended XXX's honor and even said Akademiks put him (Joe) on XXX. Joe made the comment he made b/c Mal brought up the point that there are not a lot of "gatekeepers," showing the new generation of creatives the right way. How these gossip sites, and ppl like Akademik (commentators, etc) only promote the "fuck shit," the artists do, so it makes a newcomer feel like he/she has to troll or do fuck shit to get ahead. They also talked about how you knew of XXX's drama before you even knew his music (this is true for me, b/c this is how I first came to know about him, I still haven't listened to any of his music, yet). This response is a classic example of how ppl have selective ass hearing; or how ppl hear one thing but draw a fucked up ass conclusion. Either way, Let the man rest.
