In May, Petra Mede will host the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time. The comedian, singer, actress and presenter tells us about her decision to return — and what it's like working with her co-host Malin Åkerman. She also teases "We Just Love Eurovision Too Much," the follow-up to "Love Love Peace Peace," which she's worked on with director and writer Edward af Sillén. Our interview ends with a moving discussion of Petra's early years as a ballerina — and the injury that changed her life forever. I think it's so important to mention Edward af Sillén, when talking about Eurovision 2013 and 2016 being sucessful. Petra gets the spotlight, and she's great as a host, but a confident, funny and calm host, has a lot to do with the script and direction from a great director and writer. People celebrate Måns and Petra for "Love Love, Peace Peace", rightfully so, but I feel that Edward af Sillén should be mentioned in the same breath as them, because he wrote it. Everyone celebrates that Petra is back, me too, but most of all I'm so grateful that Edward af Sillén is!

The first question I asked myself after Sweden won last year, was please can they ask Petra Mede to host again? I was SO glad she said yes! For me, Eurovision 2016 remains the contest for me, where things went up a notch in JUST how Eurovision should be hosted. I know people weren’t that keen on Måns, but I actually really liked the camaraderie between them. Just hope Petra doesn’t put too much pressure on herself hosting this time round, as although she makes it look easy, when hosting to x hundred million people that can’t be an easy thing to do! Good luck Petra, so glad you’re back! 😀
