I married a cattle rancher and lived in his 9,000 square foot English Tudor mansion for 6 years before I left. I found it to be very lonely when I was the only one there. I spent time in the garage with the dogs he didn’t want to be in the house. I no longer feel envy about the people who live in these houses.

Can you imagine trying to maintain these houses. The cleaning, The landscape, the electricity bill, the water bill, etc... CRAZY

Great video, I’m closing in on my retirement and I’d like to move from Minnesota to a warmer climate, but the prices on homes are stupidly ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%) do I just invest my spare cash into stock and wait for a housing crash or should I go ahead to buy a home anyways

The cost of keeping up a place like that is very expensive along with taxes

none of these house’s are a cozy home, they’re all large, sterile & extravagant places that cost a fortune to run in utilities & taxes.

I think when someone has a massive amount of money and a massive ego they will not want to live in someone else’s former home. They want to built their own ego maniac home.

I couldn’t even imagine what the taxes would be on these places.

I laugh when people overpay for something they really don’t want and then try to sell it for what they paid or more.

Oh don’t forget the household staff it takes to maintain

Super expensive homes are hard to sell because rich people can build their own dream house not buy someones cast off

Large spaces are alienating. These homes are just too big, even for celebrities.

Very lonely houses. Give me a good solid log cabin and a huge fireplace. A big porch. Low maintenance. Easy, relaxed living. Room for some company , keeping it cozy and rustic.

And, in addition to taxes and upkeep, think about security, especially with all those uncurtained windows and doors.

As a tradesperson, these houses are huge and need regular maintenance! Very costly!

These are not homes they are like hotels

Humans are so wasteful. The wildlife that lost their homes for these idiots to build homes only to abandon them. Sad.

Never buy a house with a flat roof !! Problems waiting to happen

There are so many things you could do with these homes retirement village, condos, nursing homes.
