In today's eye-opening episode, we dive deep into a story that hits close to home, both literally and figuratively. A homeowner embarks on a journey to build their dream home with a budget exceeding $2.1 million, entrusting the project to a family friend turned project manager. What was supposed to be a partnership built on trust quickly spirals into a cautionary tale of manipulation, greed, and sabotage.

The TikTok Inspector Conflict: When the project manager realises the homeowner enlisted the help of a renowned TikTok inspector for quality assurance, tensions flare. The inspector, known for his thorough and unbiased reviews, faces harassment on social media, a testament to the project manager's desperation to conceal the shoddy workmanship under his supervision.

A Cascade of Non-Compliance: Our comprehensive inspection uncovers a litany of issues. From the ceiling's frame installation that blatantly disregards the stamped truss layout to the evidently compromised structural integrity, the depth of negligence is alarming. The waterproofing and Hebel cladding installations are far from compliant, and the framing itself violates basic standards.

The Financial Toll: With the project manager pocketing over $250,000 and the concrete work alone costing around $200,000, the financial strain on the homeowner is immense. The situation worsens when, upon further evaluation by a qualified engineer, it's determined that the concrete work is so subpar it necessitates complete replacement.

A Trust Betrayed: This tale is not just about financial loss but a profound breach of trust between the homeowner, now an unwitting owner-builder, and a project manager who was considered a family friend.

A Call to Action: This episode isn't merely a recount of events but a stern warning to homeowners about the pitfalls of unchecked trust, especially in construction projects of such magnitude. It's a reminder of the importance of due diligence, independent inspections, and the right to seek transparency and accountability at every construction phase.

Every time my kids misbehave, I’ll be sitting them down and telling them that their behaviour is ‘ non-compliant’ 😂😂😂
  • I wish people overseas watching this could truly understand that this guy is literally becoming an Australian hero. There’s been so many dodger builders in this country, scamming people. This guy saving citizens!
  • @TechGamesAU
Anyone who resorts to personal insults has already lost the argument.
  • @orca708
This channel needs to be aired on TV.
  • @badkarma888
I love how they blame the inspector when the get caught red handed. One has to wonder how many homes these builders have fudged before being caught out.
  • @MrMerxes
How those people even sleep at night knowing they’ve ruined someone’s life. They’re no different from the dogs that scam elderly people over the phone. Shameless
  • @jshorto
Soon as he called you a clown just because you do your job right, tells you everything you need to know about his work ethics, totally non-compliant.
  • You know EXACTLY how this passed inspection! Inspectors that don't give a crap.. paid off.. related to builder.. not held liable.. there's plenty of reasons.
  • @LiquidAudio
What's most satisfying for me is knowing that the REAL clown is watching this, reading these comments and realising that ripping people off catches up with you.

Unfortunately these people have fallen for the oldest trick in the building registration book. A dodgy, unregistered builder convinces the owners to register as owner builders, therefore putting any liability onus on them. Thery're in a world of trouble. It's unlikely the VBA will help them as they are the registered builders. Take a lesson from these people if someone tries to convince you that "it'll be good, you save the builders profit margin"
  • @simmogj
The PM 'engineered' the whole build around him not being accountable. He's as cunning as a SHR, trying to base everything on mutual agreement and trust. Did I read right at one stage he said $5k an hour? He has really exploited their trust.
  • @Mo12385
As a NSW building surveyor/consultant that build is a disgrace.
  • @LiquidAudio
This is some of the worst garbage building I've ever seen. As always, fantastic work in outing these crooks mate!
  • @xVeL0ciTySc0pE1
that concrete driveway is yuck! as a concreter myself that is one shit job
  • @afishynado6812
$5200 an hour? Jesus Christ mate, that's non-compliant.
  • @samuria-
Can you please do a video on a house that you think is well built? Or do you have a video like that? Would love to see you go through a house that has been built well.
  • @saberint
I laughed my way all the way through this video, not because I’m horrible, but because this reminds me of every day of my life as a commissioning engineer for the last 30 years. Thank you very much for continuing to shed light on our construction industry
  • These inspectors also need to be held accountable. And the $250 000 need to be returned to the owner so the owner can at least pay for some of the defaults to be repared. He needs to be to be sued and charged.
  • @Melanie16040
Never thought as an american I would be watching over an hour long video from an aussie home inspector... Well, this is the third one you've got me to watch! Good on ya!
  • Mate, so this was the house you were talking about. I was the one who spoke with you over the phone regarding the Hebel. Wow, this is atrocious. I wonder how long the Hebel wall would last with that sheer amount of weight slapped onto it. That is right, max weight it could take is 32kg/m2 and they would have to consult with an engineer as well for weather tightness. Hebel's original intended design is to be a cladding on its own but ey people like doing their own thing so....yeah lol. Anyways, glad to be of assistance! 😅
