I’m not sure Daboll has much choice in the matter given Jones’ contract. The smart thing would have been to admit the mistake of drafting Jones and not extending him in the first place. That was GM malpractice extending him.

Chris and Mike made the main points I’ve been feeling that Ownership/Management failed to improve the team upon. Whether or not the Giants switches QB’s, the Giants were doomed with an incomplete O-Line. Teams we’ve lost to were more complete, consistent and overpowered our offense, mainly at the line. I’d rather wait until we have a better protected O-Line to then create a competition as to who the better player (per position) is. Until then, we’re wasting time and money with no clear path of victory. Fix our weaknesses first, and then work on finding better assets.

Two seconds is the time that most QBs are getting the ball out down the field and on check downs. Their throwing or moving their position and making plays. Unless there’s no space and that time it’s on the QB. Step back out of the pocket for extra time then throw or move. Our backups did it more than Jibes with the same players.

Ugh, on Lock, those of us in Denver been through this. He has size, he has a big arm, he can run, he is a great kid … but he can’t process the game. He makes bad decisions. He spent an entire summer watching film with Payton Manning and it didn’t help.

If they make no effort to replace Jones where they draft, the coach will be fired before they find a QB that plays more than 5 years with them.

Daniel Jones has gotten 5 years and has had one above average season plus he’s injury prone, doubt he’s brought back after this year. Daboll and Schoen will take their medicine (his big contract) then cut or trade him at the end of the upcoming season. If they don’t get a QB in this years draft, they’ll get a guy in next years
