Ukraine's incursion into Russia is "big" and represents much more than just a raid, our security and defence analyst Professor Michael Clarke says.

Fighting has continued in the Kursk region of Russia for a fourth day after Ukrainian forces smashed through the border earlier this week.

There is much that remains unclear and Ukraine remains tight-lipped about what is happening - and what its broader goal for the operation is.

MASSIVE EXPLOSIONS in Russia Tonight, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the airfield "Lipetsk" (Lipetsk region, Russian Federation). In the course of the attack, warehouses with guided aerial bombs and a number of other objects in the vicinity of the airport were hit. Several sources of ignition were recorded, a strong fire broke out and multiple detonations were observed. It is known that the Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are based at the Lipetsk airfield. The results of the damage are being clarified. In addition, our units attacked anti-aircraft missile divisions of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. In particular, combat work was carried out against three enemy radars: two of the S-350 complexes and one of the S-300. Accurate hits and destruction of one S-350 air defense missile radar was confirmed. Regarding the other two, the information is currently being clarified. At the same time, it was recorded that all three enemy radars stopped working after the strikes.
  • Does this mean that Putin's 3-day special military operation not going well? I am a bit confused here.
  • Paybacks are hell. What day are we on of Putie’s 3 day special operation?
  • @DavidGetling
According to some reports that airbase was "hit" really hard. One would also imagine that in some degree Russian air defences are geared to expect attacks from across the border. So drone attacks from about 10 miles inside Russia might, for a little while, prove much more devastating. And the cherry on the cake is the serious humiliation it's causing Putin.
  • @Liam_Mellon
