You have no idea how grateful a lot of us are to you when you said “I’m a college professor. I believe in educating, not indoctrinating.” In today’s day and age, we need proper and professional educators!
  • @JAW1992
"I believe in the idea of educating, not indoctrinating". 31:24 The world needs more people like you. As a source of news you give the simple respect to your viewers of disseminating information without political opinion or spin.

Hooyah! Congrats to tug boat captains for the recognition they deserve. And rhanks to Sal for both initially criticizing (not a mistake at all, just an opinion on his part) the type of command structure chosen for the cleanup and also recognizing their proper management and execution of the cleanup - great teamwork.

I hope the Dali won't drop out of the news cycle and you will keep us updated on the unloading and repair. Thanks.

The Columbia bar can be astonishly dangerous. Go to the museum in Astoria, Oregon, at the mouth of the river. I know I won't forget it.

I never realized how interesting shipping was😎😁🤪🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️ until I found your program thanks

And THAT's why they say "a picture says a thousand words." Those images really capture the enormity of the size and scope of the damage, and the enormous challenges the salvage team were presented with. It's a shame the work hasn't been highlighted more(really at all) by the mainstream media, because there are a bunch of people who have done exceptional work. Lets hope the team tasked with building the new bridge works in similar fashion.

It is evident that you educate not indoctrinate . We learn something factual and specific every day and what it means .
  • @tomriley5790
Impressive skill by the tugboat captains doing that transit too!
  • Another issue with the Portland container terminal. About 3 or 4 years ago there was a port workers strike which backfired. The container terminal was closed during the strike and most shippers in the area discovered it was relatively easy and cost effective to truck their containers to Seattle during the strike. Once the strike ended, the business never came back.

Nice touch with including the MD Governor's acknowledgement of the tugboaters that have been working with the Dali.
  • As a Maryland citizen, I like Governor Wes Moore. I also liked Larry Hogan. I am (and have always been() a big fan of Tugboats. They are the hardest working boats in the harbor. No B.S. just power and reliability, getting the job done, day in, day out with little to no recognition. Mostly taken for granted, but I get it and I DO appreciate them.

I just drove by Dali this morning on my way to a mri lol

I may not be a Mariner, but I always figured Dali would be made seaworthy in the US then transit back to Asia to be fully repaired. Glad to hear someone who is actually an expert say the same.
  • @bakedbean37
Who knew I needed maritime news in my life? And where better to get it? Cheers to Sal and to all you salty sea dogs out there who seldom get a mention or consideration.
  • @TS-bj8my
I have to admit that I never thought that I'd routinely log on to watch your show on shipping but I am. Thanks keep up the great work!
  • @reneeparker7475
It's always good to see anyone recognizing the hard work that other do, on our behalf. Those who work on ships and tugboats, as well as our Coast Guard do unimaginable work, so I thank them too. Happy Maritime Day, to all mariners!!!
  • @ross-sy7rh
Thanks so much Sal. You do not know how important you are for understanding the world. When will you get your pulitzer prize?
