NYC Gets Worse... Shoplifters Raid Another Target

Target has a shoplifting problem so bad, they're now instructing their staff to prevent thefts of $50 or more... which might be tough to implement in NYC where stealing more than that is a non jail able offense. Either way theft is so bad and law enforcement so lax, that retailers have to try something to get ahead of these thieves.

Let's spend another billion dollars on security cameras and plexiglass and not arrest a single criminal. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

This is not shoplifting. It's the breakdown of civil order.

I used to fly to the U.S to attend business meetings. I am now retired and I am glad I no longer need to go to the U.S. What an uncivilized country!
  • 25 years ago, I swore an oath to defend our country. I don't think I can do the same now. Had I only known where this country is heading, I would have walked out of the recruiting office. I don't recognize this country anymore....

NOT "shoplifting"...... It is outright LOOTING!!! Call it for what it is.....

As a soon retiree, keeping my 401k on course is my top priority. I have been reading of investors making up to 250k ROI in this current crashing market, any recommendations to scale up my ROI before retirement will be highly appreciated.
  • "I feel like everything is locked up these days.." except the criminals. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  • Expecting employees to confront shoplifters is pretty unrealistic when the employees and shoplifters know the police will do literally nothing.

Apparently DEI is not being implemented in the "Thief" Industry! This certainly needs to be addressed!

NYC barring Walmart from opening stores in the city may have been a blessing in disguise for Walmart.
  • @htweelz
If they aren't going to prosecute the shoplifters, it doesn't matter.

These communities have proven that they do not deserve the convenience of retail services.

This is going to lead to a massive surveillance state and a total loss of privacy
  • When I was a kid in the late 60ā€™s, I stole a pack of lifesavers candy. The manager called the cops, and I was taken to jail. I had to wait for my parents to show up to release me. My parents took me back to the store so I could apologize to the manager, then went home for an ass whippinā€™ā€¦I never stole anything again. Times sure have changedā€¦šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

So an employee will stop them and then a cop or judge will let them go. Lose, lose for the employee.
  • If an employee attempts to stop a theft is there a possibility that they may be charged with stopping a criminal from stealing with words or blocking the way. Depriving the thief of their human right to steal ?šŸ˜¢

I used to work security at Target. They do not pay enough to ask employees to intervene in thefts. Risking my life and you don't even provide a 401k?
