Welcome to MEAT WEEK, Loyal Theorists! Before you check out our other meat-themed content on our other channels, Game Theory, Film Theory, and Food Theory, we just HAVE to talk about the weirdest fashion trend around meat: that is, Lady Gaga’s meat dress. She wore the mutton chops at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and her attire made its way around the internet, so much so, that we’re talking about it 13 years later! But why? Well, in honor of Meat Week, we’re wondering whether you can actually EAT the dress and how many calories you would intake if you did consume it all. So grab a knife, and let’s dig in!

Mustve been a nightmare figuring out if this would go on food theory or style theory
  • @kinucch
Love Tom suggesting Fnaf and everyone screaming "NO!!!" the trauma is deep for this team 🤣
  • @Kubeq9999
I can already tell that the next Food Theory is gonna be about making an edible dress
  • Crazy to think that is theoretically cheaper than most dresses worn to a similar event.
  • Fun fact: Lady Gaga got her name from the 1984 song “Radio GaGa” by the rock group Queen. The song was written about the drummer’s, Roger Taylor’s love for the radio. But the inspiration behind the song was when Roger was driving his son Felix and listening to a bad song on the radio, when Felix said “Radio ca ca”.
  • For anyone wondering, no, he did not manage to incorporate Pedro pascal into this episode (unless I'm wrong XD) I'm fairly certain though

Matpat: blurs employee last names Also Matpat: Forgets to blur Amy’s name less then a min later
  • @spaceman4667
I like how MatPat blurred out his own last name during the team call like we don’t already know it

This was definitely cool for sure. Personally, I'd love to see a future style video on Lolita fashion; there's so much history, culture, variation, and unfortunate controversy behind it that any 1 thing about it would be interesting. you could do a specific information video on the hows and whys kinda like with the Shein vid, or a specific question like how much do the different styles of clothing accurately represent the eras and countries they're inspired by? anyway, love this channel; keep up the fantastic work!

I love how everyone just started to chant meat week while Amy was objecting because she is a vegetarian
  • True Fact: Montreal artist, Jana Sterbak, displayed a Meat Dress in the National Gallery of Canada, back in 1991, almost 20 years before Gaga. This dress, beyond challenging the idea of "art," was made as a commentary on mortality and aging. It was made of 50 lbs of salted flank steak and left to rot in the gallery for 6 weeks (under glass), before being replaced by a fresh meat dress for the remaining 4 weeks, before the exhibit went on tour in the US and UK.

OMG 11:38 I was just studying for my physics test which included Specific & Latent Heat! [Cool topic btw]
  • Might want to save that edible clothing idea for next February because edible underwear is indeed a thing, and not to mention that such an episode would make for a great Valentines Day gift for all the lovers out there.
