Krishnamurti's Last Year at Brockwood Park (1985)

Published 2012-08-13
Originally entitled "The Role of a Flower", this video shown on British television in 1985 as part of "The Human Factor" TV program, features J. Krishnamurti, founder of Brockwood Park School, here interviewed and giving a talk just months before his death in Ojai California. This will also give you some biographical information as well as insights from people who knew him personally, such as Mary Lutyens, as well as people who used to attend the gatherings. Finally, for those of you who don't know what K's talks used to look like in those days, this is a good window into the atmosphere of the way it used to be at Brockwood.

I had the immense privilege of seeing him and listening to him...I loved what he said and still do... One of the greatest 'Speaker'. Miss him a lot.

I owe my present clarity to THIS man. There is peace now for which there is gratitude.
  • I feel deep gratitude to be living at a time where I can hear what this remarkable man had to share with us. His wisdom has changed me and set me on course.
  • He doesn't claim any authority nor does he show any authority any where, in his talks, in his every moment. That's the beauty of it. The best that I came across.

This man is simply stating the facts of life. And they’re extremely simple facts

Krishnamurti was altogether a new kind of philosopher. He was fresh and novel every where he talked and taught to his adherents. He covered almost all the things relevant to our understanding and evolution. He was absolutely a revolutionary thinker influencing Europe and America.
  • To appreciate K, first see how many I, my, mine we put in our everyday language. Or feelings from a center of I, into comments, positive or negative. He's revealing incorruptible, absolute truth that humanity is indivisible, not fragmented, numerous divisions from egos. Pay him back: listen, investigate, doubt, implores our egos to the minutest wiggles, implode and explode into this pathless, timeless land. The tremendous potentiality that he mentioned time and again can then be realized and we can live attentively, simply and energetically, meditation in movement, exemplified from this sage's physical life. Thanks K and friends.
  • I was a Christian, a hindu a Buddhist and a witch. If it wasn't for this man, I would never have had the deep understanding necessary in these days to see through the fog of a deeply disturbed world. Now ive seen a man speak, heard a man open his heart, and I thank God for that opportunity. It puts a person in a strange position, but ive realised that we can totally change the relationship we have with life as a human being, and instead of standing on the side, commenting on the predicament of mankind, have found that its possible to actually participate in life. Thank you sir.

This man also helped me a lot to understand myself and others that we are one. I felt so lost but have found my own light, thank you so much. Much LOVE.
