The issue with this design in that I’ve seen with electrocution based rat traps is that the rap will jump immediately when shocked and will not receive a sustained voltage enough to kill it. This will also deter other rats and mice from approaching

That 4KV arc generator is some serious business! Q: a dead mouse could keep the thing going until the battery peter's out? Maybe add a little sweeper thing to clear trap of dead mice?

Когда нечего делать, можно забавляться. Жил в свое доме. Много способов борьбы с этими нехорошими соседями испробовал. Самое эффективное. Газету расстелил и спец.клей "продаётся даже в нашем населённом пункте" на эту газету. Главное определить тропинки по которым передвигаются незваные гости. Котиков и собачек не пускать.

I specifically liked your demo of mouse approaching and getting electrocuted. Great idea but people should be aware of 4KV ( 4000 volts) involved in this circuit.
