  • That’s crazy. They could’ve let those people stay in those homes. Way safer then sleeping on the streets. That made zero sense.
  • That last sentence “ Could impact property values…”. That’s it in a nutshell. NIMBY hard at work.
  • Not a safe option but being thrown out on the street that's a safe option? The heck is wrong with these people

I am so over our countries inability to help our own but go out their way to send billions of tax payer dollars to help people in other countries in the same situation.

Of course if they don’t control it isn’t safe…but the streets are? What a shame and Las Vegas city leadership should be ashamed of themselves.

Too big to fail and too small to win…Crazy times we are living in 😭

Remember, we never know our situation. One day you have a job, house, A/C, running water, etc., but in these uncertain times, darkness strikes. Be thankful and just help New Leaf Community. They are doing much of the heavy lifting. Have some compassion, folks, because none of us want to end up on the streets. This heat alone would destroy us.
  • I passed this when there was a sign erected stating that "Housing is a human right." I'm not so much into forcibly taking from others for the "rights," of others. However, if a group of people want to pool their resources together, in a strictly voluntarism way, they should be allowed to do so.
  • Way to go Nevada, I thought Florida was garbage but this one just took the cake! I literally just heard the commenter say those homeless encampments being there may effect the quality of life of the neighbors or their property values...WTF!?!?! That's ironic cause the only quality of life that is of concern right now is the damn homeless, not the neighbors that are already well off!
  • It's disgusting how they destroy what they have but don't provide something in it's place

These despicable, slimy, low-life “officials” should be stripped of everything, made to live in these huts, and never let back into society. This is abysmal - and I don’t mean the homelessness.
  • Are the sidewalks zoned for tents? The "zoning" excuse is lame. Fix it.

I’m currently homeless here in North Las Vegas & this is disheartening. I’d take any shelter I could get right about now.
  • These tiny homes are similar to an “apartment” so long as they are carefully monitored and have sewage. It’s usually up to the tenants to take care of the other regular utilities. One strike and they’re out policy. We need a place like this so that the homeless don’t invade or commandeer another citizens property(it was illegal for the Senator to tell the homeless that it was ok to do this). The veteran’s are often left with nothing once they finish their time. I see and hear so often how the veterans have had to wait at least 6months for their paperwork to process in order to obtain benefits along with their pension. 6 months is a long time for money, housing and medical treatment
