Why The Rock's "Hollywood" Heel Promo MISSED THE MARK on WWE SmackDown

It felt like his HEEL promo was being forced, half hearted attempt...then back to business.

The fact that there is no explanation for why Cody tried to give away his spot, why Triple H and Dwayne did what they did just proves that this wasn't the original plan. They wanted Rock vs Roman. The fans didn't, so they're just gonna memory hole what has already happened and scramble to write and new story.

It was a good promo. Ya got what ya wanted with Cody. What more do fans want? Wrestling fans complain too much.

"Shut your mouths and enjoy the ride" I don't know about the rest of y'all but I'd find it hard to enjoy a ride when you don't know where you're going. And especially when it's not your birthday so you're not expecting a surprise!

The Rock's promo last Fri makes no sense. When Rock said, "That's not the way it works," well the way it works is that Cody won the Rumble, and he can choose any World title to challenge for at WM, so he chose Roman's World title. That's logic. What is not logic is Cody stepped aside to allow Rock to challenge Roman at WM when the Rock did not do anything to earn a title shot against Roman.

He should come out to the heel theme and in the black leather. Maybe he'll do it next entrance.

I am getting to the point where I am going to quit watching WWE because WWE have been going through a lot of scandals. It's crazy! From now on, I am sticking with AEW and the other pro wrestling companies. You don't see AEW and the other pro wrestling companies going through any scandals like WWE are!

They should have given him completely different music. When the Usos officially split and Jimmy stayed in the Bloodline after Jey left, he got a theme with a completely different feel and vibe that let you know there was a change.

Every time that theme comes in with "If Ya Smeeeellll," people instinctually pop and then...remember they are not supposed to pop and start to boo, which is weird.

He also needs to lean into the character a bit more on and off TV like Drew is doing but he still likes to be the "People's Champ" and can't help himself.

This is typical WWE. They love to piss the smarks off! They love to hype you all up, then when the big show happens, it’s a huge let down! I guarantee you WM is going to be a big hype build with a disappointing let down!

Absolute agree with you. Dwayne was absolutely underwhelming on SD. His promo was meaningless, but some people seem unable to accept that fact.

I still think this is a set up. Make Roman feel warm and cozy then help Cody win. To those that are unhappy JD they just can’t handle no one watches them.
