Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture, Professor Zach Murphy will present on Pituitary Disorders. We will discuss the pathophysiology, including abnormalities in pituitary hormone production that can lead to conditions such as acromegaly, Cushing's disease, and pituitary adenomas. The lecture will include a discussion on the clinical manifestations, ranging from hormonal imbalances affecting growth, metabolism, and stress responses to symptoms specific to hormone excess or deficiency. The digital presentation will begin with the diagnostic approach, highlighting the importance of hormone level assessments, MRI imaging for adenoma detection, and visual field tests for assessing optic chiasm compression. Finally, we will review management strategies for Pituitary Disorders, emphasizing medication to normalize hormone levels, radiation therapy, and surgical removal of pituitary tumors. Thank you so much . The video was so informative I did my surgery in November 2022 Initially I thought it was an eye problem through CT scan the doctor discovered I had a pituitary tumor as a result my left eye lost vision due to the tumor. Am currently on Levothyroxine.
