Blade runner is why I fell in love with the art of cinema. I'll never forget the night I watched it. I was 18, and had never experienced anything like it before. I still get chills listening to the soundtrack.

Not only is Blade Runner an incredible film to look at for its world, ethical conundrums, scientific questions and music -- but on the topic of listening... the script, really listen to the words, some of it is so profound and has a duality to it; just like the movie with the humans and the replicants.

It was Hans Zimmer who ended up composing for the new film. It was different, but you could feel the Vangelis's heritage. I thought that would be impossible, but it's like Vangelis's soundtrack had a child. I witnessed a miracle.

I recently saw Blade Runner 2049, and while the score may not quite live up to the innovation of Vangelis, I think that Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch did a fantastic job of blending it into the visual atmosphere of the film. The score combined with Roger Deakins' breathtaking cinematography created a worthy successor to the original and a stellar piece of filmmaking in its own right.

Blade Runner is the greatest film ever made, of any genre, for my money. It's a work of art. As for Vangelis, he's the Einstein of the music world. An incomparable genius.

Awesome video, Blade Runner is one of the most influential movies ever in almost every aspect, and of course the sound design is a perfect example.

Easily one of the greatest scores of all time. It's just as much a work of genius art as the film itself. Probably my favourite non-leitmotif score.
