The earth DOES wobble but does not affect the seasons on a human life scale. The axial tilt they illustrated...well it stays the same throughout the year. It's just that in 6 months...at the beginning of our winter...the earth is on the other side of the sun. The southern hemisphere is then more squarely exposed to the sun so it is then summer down there. The earth is only about 3 million miles closer to sun at that time but that doesn't make much difference: 91.4 million miles versus 94.5 million miles.
  • It was an amazing thing to see! I watched the Sun for an hour as it approached solstice, then, suddenly, it just came to a complete stop, like it hit a wall. It was almost like I could hear the brakes squealing. This is a once-in-a-lifetime, annual experience. I have lived this long. Now, off to the next life experience, an opthalmologist. There's these weird, dark spots right in the middle.
  • today is actually the 31st day of summer in minneapolis. the first actual day of summer occurred april 14, 2024. i already am anxious for it to be over.
  • Half the year is shot in the ass already and we're not all dead yet. Amazing!

Today I learned. I was confused because I thought the summer soltice was tomorrow, so I googled it. The summer solstice is typically on the 21st, but it can be on the 20th, 21st, or 22nd. This year, the summer solstice was today, June 20th, at 1:50 Pacific time.
  • The Sicilian from the princess bride had a son and he does the weather
  • Wow... I really don't like that explanation. Try this: The northern direction of earth's axis always points the same direction but it goes around the sun so at our winter solstice the axis points away from the sun. Take half a revolution around the sun and the axis will now point toward the sun for the summer solstice

But how can the earth rotate when it’s flat.
