In an interview with The Daily Signal, renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson discusses the updated edition of his bestselling book, "The Case for Trump." Months before the 2024 presidential election, Hanson offers fresh insights into the remarkable political comeback of Donald Trump.

The book's new introduction delves into the final days of Trump's presidency through late spring 2024, chronicling the unprecedented challenges Trump has faced and his resilience since leaving the White House. Hanson covers recent events—from legal battles to media controversies—and their impact on Trump's political standing.

"It was really the most remarkable comeback in American political history, even more impressive than Richard Nixon's phoenix-like rise after losing the gubernatorial election to Pat Brown in 1962," Hanson says.

Our conversation explores the miscalculations of Trump's opponents, his unfair treatment at the hands of rogue prosecutors, and the ever-changing dynamics shaping the presidential race. Plus, Hanson offers his perspective on how best to counter Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

That's what I love most about Trump, he's always Trump. And I am sick of hearing, "whether you like him or not." Why don't you ask that about Biden, Harris, Democrats, and other politicians, who are very much disliked by me and most everyone I know. Trump 2024, he will save us!!

Trumps character, resilience and attitude is very similar to Margaret Thatcher, she was always authentic, never retired ill and was tremendously robust and true to her beliefs! She created the environment for people to succeed and many took the opportunity to better themselves. Many still miss her and Americans should recognise what they have in Trump today because they will miss him when he is gone!

Victor what Trump did that day was come off the floor of that stage and declare his defiance immediately then he returned in public and has not stopped since.

Trump is a Scott. His mother's family hails from the isle of Skye. These are rugged people.

VDH is the best. Trump should have him as a campaign advisor and a policy advisor when he wins.

I like how Mr. Hanson is well versed on the concerns of we, the people not as a clueless politician. Good work. Thanks, from a native Californian .🇱🇷

Trump is authentic. That's the key. And he's a constitutionalist who believes in America's founding principles.
  • I grew up in Sacramento, CA….VDH is absolutely right about KH! She is awful…
  • Well if I’m turning out to vote, the candidate is what we want, no wonder America first became mainstream even if some states are so dumbed down that they aren’t capable of absorbing the reality in the United States.
