Born too late for job security, born too early for a robot-run jobless utopia, born just in time to be unemployed.
  • I work for a hospital and spend much of my day on the phone trying to talk to insurance companies (not billing or claims) and some of them have become so impossible to actually contact ANYONE who can actually talk to us to sort out issues that they created through their AI nonsense that we have refused to renew contracts with them. Because we are the only hospital system in the tri-county area, if they don’t have a contract with us then they aren’t able to offer insurance at all in about 1/4 of our state. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

There’s a saying “Don’t fear technology, fear the people behind it”

As a full-time stock photographer (in the book publishing industry), my income has halved over the past few months, and keeps going further down every month. The last two months were horrifying. I knew this was coming, I just didn't expect it to happen this fast. For months publishers swore up and down they wouldn't use AI images on principle. Yeah, right. Be warned everyone, it's coming for many of you too -- and faster than you think.

Remember in the 80s when they said computers would make our lives easier and eventually allow us to work 4 day weeks? I believe the end game for AI is to have a handful of greedy, powerful people around the globe use it to their personal, political, and financial advantage.
  • @mrbushlied7742
I can't wait for AI and ChatGPT to start replacing CEOs!
  • @antjoym
If all jobs are eliminated by AI, so goes the consumer..
  • @billnotice9957
The return of Plumbers, Electricians, Road builders, Auto mechanics, Farmers and Builders will be respected again. If I was 25 again. I would learn to be an Auto Mechanic.
  • @Puccinidb
And once all these companies downsize their workforce and replace them with AI - who is going to buy their products and services? No jobs = no money = no customers. Eventually their bottom line will be affected.
  • @85jongo
What happened to having people back in the office to have "organic conversations" and "face to face collaboration"?
  • @tbrasc0
HR roles migrate to AI... Its like businesses finally admit HRs only role is to protect the business NOT support the employee.
  • @ImaNPCman
As a kid, i used to wonder why there was so much discrimination agaisnt the droids in Star Wars by the common folk, as an adult, i can kinda get it now lol.
  • @fallenranger3100
Companies don't want to admit they over hired during the post-pandemic hiring frenzy. AND they want to message to the Street that they are being thought leaders in AI because it bumps their stock. These are the two reasons the CEOs are saying this. Most CEOs are not sophisticated enough to actually understand the tech they are espousing. The press is playing into this AI frenzy. I have not seen an example where AI can replace a human yet. Nevertheless, it will negatively impact people both as employees and customers.
  • So what is the point of even going to college anymore? My son has a degree in Computer Science and can’t find a job already! It feels like what is the point of anyone even going to school in any of these fields anymore! And what are we supposed to do, sit around and do nothing? Hard to not see gloom and doom especially when you are just beginning your career.
  • If your job isn’t being eliminated it’s being devalued to justify the lousy pay they are giving or offering you.
  • @stevec404
Companies can't wait to get rid of human employees. They had better not forget that consumers need jobs/money to buy their products/services.
  • @user-kq1nk2zu1q
I’d like to see an ai teacher manage a middle school classroom 😂
  • @unicornshampoo
If anything this channel taught me is to not be afraid. Take control of your life. Dont stick your head in the sand and hope you will be lucky.
  • @JustMe-gx4xt
There is no point with resumes anymore since there are NO jobs. It's all AI or layoffs.
  • @PrimitiveAK
This may sound far fetched but the advancement of AI in customer service roles will not last or progress any further than it already has. People REALLY hate chat bots and most people including myself just bypass the bot by saying the word “representative”. I don’t have the time or patience for that shit. And this is coming from some with a degree in IT.
