Welcome to the 32X World of Knuckles Chaotix! One of the most divisive titles from the days of classic Sonic! We're going to take an extensive look at this wonderful oddity of a videogame and finally wrap up our extended Chaotix marathon. Grab on to your sling-ring and hold tight. It's going to get weird.

Yeah the game may be Fundamentally Flawed™ but I'm really glad it exists for the aesthetic alone, I can't tell you how much mileage I've gotten out of the soundtrack.
  • @Freashplayer
Nick's wife is called Not Nick? Truly it was fate, that the two would be together.

Fun Fact: the word "apologist" actually had nothing to do with apologising for anything. It comes from the Greek word apologia, which is a legal term meaning "a formal defense of one's opinions or conduct". So definitely an accurate name for the channel even if you were to never apologise for any games - you are making a formal defense for your opinions 👍🏻
  • SCD: I can explain S1 & S2: you get widescreen ports on almost all platforms S3&K: you guys get ports all the time KC: you guys are getting ports?
  • Shadow's game: Guns and vehicles Tails' game: Bombs, napalm and vehicles Knuckles' game: R I N G
  • @TheBlueGhoul
The faces he draws are just so expressive. Also knuckles looks like he's just trying to get this game over with to try and get to another stand alone title.
  • "This level is called... Speed Slider." The way he said that just floors me xD

Alternate Title: The Game Apologist loses his friends.
  • @legdig
Fun fact: espio still has his wall cling in sonic heroes but only during his triangle jump.
  • @rakohus
One of the biggest hidden gems when it comes to Sonic soundtracks. As a kid with a 32X, I played this game a ton even though I knew it stunk compared to the Genesis Sonics
  • @littleguystar
The thumbnail is just people playing the game together One wants it to get over with The other refuses to continue
  • @Sovic91
Looks like Nick doesn't want to be dragged into this. But Knuckles isn't leaving him off the hook.
  • @nintenboi7482
Fun fact: Chaotix was actually intended to be included in the Gems Collection but apparently they were having issues with the emulation.
  • @Sonicshadow191
Not Nick: “I sat down and played with Nick” Nick: “Yep” Is no one saying phrasing anymore?
  • @BlueJGilbert
Listening to you and your wife discuss the two-player experience was awesome! It was cool of her to do that with you. Your conversation reminded me of playing Chaotix with my brothers. This vid was so worth the wait!

yesterday im like “why hasn’t he covered knuckles chaotix but mentioned it so many times” today i’m irrelevant
  • @gillythekid
I didn’t even know this game HAD a 2 player mode.

Excellent work, as always, man! I've never heard anyone elucidate what it was like to experience Chaotix as a kid in the 90s, and that really resonated with me, because it matched my experience. I owned the rest of the series on Genesis and Game Gear, and could dig into them as much as I wanted. But I could only play Sonic CD and Chaotix on those rare occasions, maybe two or three times a year, when my parents would let me rent a Sega CD or 32X for a weekend. Like you said, my time with them was like a dream, and because of that, they both had this air of special mystique to them.
  • Fun fact: the current villain of the IDW comics, Starline, is inspired by Wechnia's level select name and his general color scheme
