We love train travel! It seems like you never know what you're going to get, and this was no exception! We took an overnight train in "first class" or what the Norwegians call a "private compartment" from Oslo to Stavanger, Norway. The journey took about 9 hours total.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

When you mentioned sleeping in the same train car as strangers, as a Norwegian, that literally gave me the chills😂😂no way
  • @itssamfigueroa
I love how Nate always wakes up first and always goes on the hunt for coffee and asks Kara how she slept last night.

In norway people aren’t really that social, and that’s why it’s a own bunker✨
  • @OriginalPuro
Of course the coffee is free, you're basically renting a hotel room on wheels, if a hotel didn't offer me free coffee, in Norway I would turn, run and never come back. Also, the water is clean, you can drink it from the tap.
  • As a Norwegian I can confirm that they change the sheets on the bed every time someone has been there. I’m glad you were happy about most of it😊😂
  • @johnzuleger4807
"Guess what else.... The coffee is free!". *A look of shock on Kara's face!
  • @Katscapade
As someone who have lived in Norway, I agree that Norwegians love their own space and privacy. It’d be wonderful if all nations have this kind of train and mindset. Personal space is important!
  • @MariaKonieczna
As someone who lives in Norway I can tell you personal space is appreciated here, so even though I haven’t taken the overnight compartment train yet, I am not at all surprised you had your own little “room” 😊 sounds just about right 😉
  • Norwegians wont even sit besides a stranger on the buss, how would they share a compartment with another person? 😂
  • @Nynke_K
Tip for anyone planning train travel in Norway: if you book early, you can often get 'minipris' tickets, which are much, much cheaper than normal!
  • @ionascott4524
“There’s chocolate on the bed” (chucks it back on the bed ) 😆 😂
  • I love how every SINGLE time Kara wakes up, Nate has coffee for here! So sweet!
  • You have inspired my 10 years old daughter to travel (before she wouldn’t leave my side, now she can’t wait o go I her first trip alone 😔)
  • @meeepmorp
This looks like the cleanest train you've ever been to 😂 Would love to watch a vlog by you guys trying out luxury trains like the Orient Express!
  • @Founders4
Me: stuck at home most days YouTube algorithm: here's a video to remind you what it was like to live a normal life
  • the look of surprise on Kara's face when Nate tells her the coffee is free
  • @lividali5945
One thing: you can use the water from the sink because it’s so clean, no bacteria’s:)- From a person from Norway :)
  • @em8842
"Weird sour yoghurt" But... It's yoghurt. Yoghurt's sour. It's soured milk. What. Do only Scandinavians eat unsweetened yoghurt, is that not a thing in the US? 😂
  • The cute thing here is that the text on the coffee cup that Nate brings translates to "care in a cup", which pretty much sums up that whole morning routine :)
  • I just love how Nate brings Kara coffee every morning. He shows her how much he loves her by doing that. 💕
