Making a Very Detailed SmallMouth Bass Lure

I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

The best smallmouth bait would be a 12 inch version of this with a 2 inch minnow lure tied 6 inches in front of it. They are so competitive it would slay them...

I went through some very rough times at home and whenever I got really sad or didn’t want to be living anymore I would turn on your videos and they just made me think that when I get out of college there was something I love out there. Rod building is very addictive, equally as enjoyable to. Nothing like catching them on a rod you built with a lure you made lol.

Seeing your kid getting bigger is nuts. Something my father told me that I will keep with me forever and felt I'd pass along. "Your kid is going to disappoint you at times in your life, wether it be in big or small ways. And it's ok. That's life. You will laugh with them about it when they have screw ups of their own.
