Hello friends! Apologies for the long absence, but we are trying to get things back on track. No, this video didn’t take us 3 months to make - we filmed a bunch of videos in July and this is the first of them to be released! It’s not a magnum opus, just supposed to be fun and lighthearted. If you want to read more about our plans, you can check out my blog post here:

Now, onto the video! A few weeks ago, somewhere deep in a visual ASMR YouTube rabbit hole, I discovered the online acrylic pour art community - where people essentially make interesting color combos of paint in a cup, then pour that cup onto a canvas or object - and then manipulate that object to create truly mesmerizing, rainbow, psychedelic pieces of art. And I was instantly hooked - just something about the way the paints flow from the cup and then slide around the canvas really got me, ya know? So I decided to pick an acrylic pour art video and try to follow it myself, to see if I could do it too. So I chose a "pouring guru", Tiktus color art, and got to work.

What do you guys think of my ~acrylic pouring adventure~?

Hi Safiya and Tyler, I just came across the video through my comments and had a very entertaining time. My personal highlights were Gandalf, Friendly Fire and the Shakeweight Master 😂 Thank you for choosing me as your teacher. The pictures turned out really nice 👍 I know the stress you felt while panning all too well and yes the corners are always challenging 😬 Keep your sense of humor and stay healthy! best regards Tiktus

I honestly didn't realize how much I missed hearing "Hello friends and welcome to another video" until this very moment.

That first one was literally flawless. And the last one’s unfinished edges looked SO COOL. I’m glad you left it that way. You certainly do have a hidden artistic talent.

In my humble onion, I honestly much prefer the outcomes of the first two attempts. The "wave" effects and duo tones really make it unique and look so awesome!!
  • @KeyEpic
Honestly, I'm with Tyler's energy right now, when Saf said "not bad" and Tyler was like "DUDE ITS AWESOME"

Sometimes I go back and rewatch these older videos because they really are great! I could watch their videos all day long

Leaving the white area exposed is leaving negative space. I'm a huge fan of negative space in pour paintings. Your stress took me back to my first pour. 🤣 My favorite was your first one. It looks like a wave, love it. I bet Titkus is proud!

You did an amazing job! Thanks for sharing some of my projects in your video. Let me know if you ever want a private pour lesson over zoom :)

Reading her blog and then watching this was a real kick in the heart. Like I can hear her trying to slow down her speech, and that just makes me think about how much those negative comments had affected her. And how through this all she's really trying to push through her own depression... ugh, And she does such a good job in this video! Man we need to compliment bomb her or something...

You gotta love how at every moment, Tyler always has something positive to hype Safiya up with, it's just so good, they're both just so good.

That one looks like a dark ocean wave… like during a serious storm. They’re all beautiful

Hey Safiya. I read your blog post and just wanted to offer support and understanding. YouTube creates this environment that causes so much stress for creators, the focus on a schedule and analytics and punishing us for not constantly maintaining the same numbers and attention. I know what it's like to edit and immediately be thinking about all the negative things people are going to say about how you look. It gets so wearing and sucks out the enjoyment of creating. Also dumb comments and judgements on your relationship are never helpful and I know for me, makes me second guess everything while editing. Like if I interrupt my husband or it's a jump cut that makes it look like that... I know there will be comments... You have done amazing with what you create online and so many people would watch you literally do anything, because they care and appreciate you as a person. I'm sorry that the whole YouTube machine and culture has made you not feel great. The idea of doing seasons and taking a break might be a good idea. Anyway just wanted to comment with my support of whatever you end up doing.

to the hate you get about your speaking voice: as a disabled individual, your videos are not only just great content, but also are so easy to watch because of how clearly you speak and enunciate. i normally use the shitty auto generated captions for other videos because of how fast people talk, but for yours I don't have to worry about it. your videos are a breath of fresh air in what has now become an extremely over-saturated fast-paced world of youtube. thank you for everything you guys do with this channel and thank you for being you! ;) also someone else said this in another comment but you are a jenna marbles type channel as we will watch whatever you put out. literally anything. i could watch you narrate grass growing and would enjoy it

I am so in love with that first attempt. I think it is really, really pretty, I kinda want to try doing the same thing to create something like that for my flat when I move out
  • @danabuck6461
OMG! That first attempt looked like an ocean wave! Just incredible!

"Almost like water marbeling..." simply nailogical has left the chat

I think that they all turned out great! But I actually think my favorite was the first attempt. It looked like a wave and it was super cool. I love your videos!
