After you finish an artist series, you should jam using all of the techniques to see how close you can get to sounding like the artist.
  • You miss one important: reggae strumming. A typical example is the bridge of Can’t stop. He muted all the downstrokes and only plays the upstrokes. It gives a rly chilling vibe. The technique is also featured in the outro of Under the bridge

Excellence! You are a true Master of the Electric Guitar! As one of your dedicated students and subscribers and a player for over 56 years, I’ve watched all of your lessons numerous times with growing respect. The overall vibe for me in “Your Guitar Magic” (and by no means the only thing) is your genuine and readily apparent lifelong love affair with and respect for the Electric Guitar. The excitement and love you continually and naturally express are obvious in your your playing , emotionally speaking, and is absolutely genuine and well expressed in your instruction. I love how you successfully capture great legendary players’ styles and are able to pass those styles succinctly and coupled with all of your personal Guitar Magic directly to your students. Anyone with just a little bit of experience knows that you have and continue to put tons and tons of personal time and work and rehearsal effort into your own learning. Then you capably distill famous players’ styles and skills and present the style as opposed to teaching songs or riffs. This is absolutely difficult if not impossible for most. This magic, your magic, enables your electric guitar students that have the vision to develop their own style (as opposed to simply learning songs and riffs) by learning and understanding how others express themselves “technically with emotion” and letting that style affect how they develop their own style. One sweet example you share in this video lesson about Frusciante is where you are able to express “his emotion” in his vibrato with several fingers on several strings up the neck. So seemingly simple on the surface (but not really) and you captured that “technical magic” and expressed it so well to me; I was jamming last night with some friends and found myself trying to use a little of that technique with my personal “emotional vibrato” in my playing. So cool!! Yes indeed! You have reignited my love affair with the EG. Keep up the Excellence and🙏 thank you!! Randy Orange 🍊

Ah I was going to mention that 'mistake' in the first post of this vid. Johns all about those unison bends. You should definitely add a section talking about his use of the whammy bar as well. Great vid man 👍🏻
  • @swordofhonor2

  • @kaganylmaz5860
I didnt know you made a frusciante episode!!! Man, he is the greatest guitar model for me and he is my motivation to keep learning how to play. I think you really captured some of his sounds and did a great job explaining. And now that i listened to you breaking down his techniques, songs sound clearer to me. Btw listen him play 19. Jam at the end jam of 2006 chorzow consert. You can really hear the techniques you talked about!!
  • @Humanumikey
what you were showing at 5:55 had me messing around with those chords and I found playing Lean On Me sounds really good that way, fingerpicked of course.
  • @slimkickens
Keeping that open string ringing on your octave chords gives a nice pedal tone
