  • I live in Chico, a 15 minute drive from Paradise coming down the mountain. I had friends and family up there. Believe me or anyone who was there when we tell you, this truly was one of the scariest days of our lives. I didn’t lose my home or any of my possessions, but I know more than a handful of people who lost everything, but the clothes on their backs

Stlll see flames when I close my eyes. I will never forget that day. Changed me and my family's life forever.

A lot more people would have died that day if there wasn't so many everyday heroes in this community. Big ups and blessings to all those in our communities and surrounding areas ❤
  • Lost my home up there. Worked in the Oroville evac shelter in the makeshift, one room hospital, Hell, I even worked search and rescue after. Still hurts, not just for me, but for those that died or suffered along side me. One of the biggest things I'll remember though, is a room full of evacuees, all circled around one volunteer with a beat up acoustic guitar, everyone singing "I'll find a way"
  • It wasn’t just paradise who lost everything. The small town of concow was completely destroyed as well. They lost their lives and loved ones and pets. Homes again for the second time in 10 years. This was my mommas 3rd time losing everything.

I grew up in Paradise. I currently live in Chico, my family lived up there and had to evacuate. They lost everything. They're still living in a travel trailer, they're hoping to rebuild up there soon.
  • It's really hard to watch this film. I lived here 2005-2012 but i still consider this my home. The place where I happily lived in. When I heard about the news, I was in utter shock. I know so many friends who lost their homes that day.

I remember for weeks walking out of my home and seeing ash in the air and cars covered with it. Too toxic to breathe. This is a bigger tragedy than a lot of people think

It was an honor cleaning up this once beautiful town.. we are nearing our end of clean ups with properties. The company I worked for was the main contractors in the lead of operations on the east side of paradise(the right side of clark road). Sukut the company that has been here since the beginning to the end have been the best of best in helping bring some kind of closure to these home owners. I’ve met and worked with so many amazing people in paradise. It was a privilege helping in some type of way. Being away from home month and months on end was hard missing friends and family. But the hard works done. Time for me to relax just like the people of paradise can.

I was stuck for over 7 hours that day. It came to my neighborhood 1st close to the upper Pentz/Dean area. I had a neighbor not make it and I seen people not make it. If it wasn't for my knowledge of roads from doing heating and air I would have gotten stuck with the group at the Optimo overnight. It was hell when I saw power polls falling I thought I was going to die.
  • This is so sad... So many people lost there homes an their WHOLE community 💔 our prayers go out to the families who were devastated in this fire.

I can't believe it's already almost been a year, feels like it was not that long ago at all 😞
  • @king4037
Living in paradise all my life and being through this fire, watching this trailer gave me an unreal amount of goosebumps.
  • @hu4l154
I was apart of the campfire and now I live in between Paradise and Oroville now and it’s almost been a year... I can’t believe it, it was crazy
  • people that disliked this are heartless, there’s blood and sweat put into this movie. atleast respect it.
  • Having lived through this as a Chico resident...I have no words. This breaks my heart.
  • @lwc2009
I live in Magalia and I have my own pictures of running from this fire that I took while trying to get off the mountain...first time since my tour in Vietnam that I was afraid I might die...
  • @Natalie_115
I and many other people survived and we are struggling with PTSD. I got instant goosebumps followed by a good cry after watching this. It’s like reliving it. I love all of my paradise community 🥰 stay strong you’re not alone.
