When Fred Biletnikoff tried a comeback with the Montreal Alouettes in 1980, he tried using stickum, and the Canadian Football League quickly issued an edict that this would not be allowed, at a time when the NFL did still allow it. Rule 1 Section 10 Article 5: Illegal Substance was officially added to the CFL rule book in 1981.

Fred Bilitnikoff gave new meaning to the term, "Grabbing A Handful"
  • Remember when OBJ the NY Giants WRs went on the trip to Miami during playoff week, then went to Green Bay & lost? To this day I believe they had problems catching the ball because the tackified gloves don’t work in freezing temps. I remember the days of stickum being used through the 1980 season. It made footballs nasty & hilarious plays where the footballs stuck to players hands at times.
  • Honestly kinda crazy that this story isn’t heard of more especially w how big spidertack and pine tar was in mlb

Stick "em" was used by Lester Hayes chronically. I think he even ate the stuff.

Def how OBJ had that insane catch these gloves are starting to get crazy

How is Stuckum cheating? It was completely legal. It was only when Lester Hayes got ridiculous with it when the NFL banned it.

I remember stickem because they used it on fly paper back in the day.

Research MAGNETS in NFL Player's gloves! They react to magnets (pre-placed) in footballs. Lots of speculation whether or not this is the NFL allowing it to "fix" certain games... Or teams doing it themselves somehow. There are videos on it
  • You realize the Raiders couldn't put Stick 'em on a ball the other team was kicking, right?
  • I'VE ALWAYS SAID THAT JERRY RICE WASN'T THAT GOOD OF A Receiver !! And Band gloves too ! From football and Baseball batters. It's pathetic that this happens !
