Budget 2024: More taxes on capital gains

Did you make over $250,000 in capital gains this year? If so, the Liberals are looking at you, to help bankroll the federal budget. Meanwhile, no opposition parties - even the NDP - are offering unqualified support to the budget.

    It's always amazing to me how easy it seems for politicians to take food from the mouths of taxpayers when they themselves are literally fed by the taxpayer.

    Punished for working hard, doing Overtime and making good investments in Canada. No incentive to work. Live off the gov until the entire system collapses and we can reset it....almost like a Great Reset. Why is the budget always extra spending and never cutting useless gov jobs? 50% taxation is far too much. We are the ones working for it, we should keep the vast majority of it, which would only be recirculated back through the economy, fueling economic growth for business's.

    This government pisses me off. Seriously we used to primarily fund our infrastructure through our industries. We ship them away because of greed, Justin takes out a loan, and now everything is funded through taxes. I have yet to see any party willing to revitalize our industries. All I see is higher taxes and budget cuts for vital infrastructure and services. What a lousy government. So many Canadians are suffering and you don’t care. My mother came here with my grandmother when she was 12 and even they notice the change. At this point my family will be taxed out of the middle class. Ridiculous. I feel bad for the rest of Canadians who are less fortunate positions. These government officials are so out of touch with reality it’s ridiculous. Maybe a tax increase is nothing to you, but it’s a lot for the rest of us!

    Capital gains is not a thing only for the wealthy. Investing one's money other than pi$$ing it away on products you don't need or can't afford is something that teacher or nurse or anyone can earn. Punishing people who invest their money through increased taxation is so wrong and only feeds the minds of the ignorant and envious.
