Published 2014-02-25 --Learn how to deal with how you feel in this message from our weekend series: 50 Days of Transformation. This week Pastor Rick Warren focuses on transforming your emotional health. This series is centered around our Transformed study with Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church.

Pastor Rick Warren talks about how God can transform your emotional health by learning how to understand our emotions and how to manage unwanted feelings. You don't have to believe everything you think and you don't have to believe everything you feel. When you give your heart to Jesus, that includes your emotions. Learn how God can help you manage them. God didn't bring you here to watch everyone else's life be transformed--Join in at

A lot of things have happened and I have no friends, hobbies, or things I'm good at and I feel purposeless and lonely. So, now what? I have a reason for joy, but at the same time I don't. I have been set free from pornography and idolatry by God's grace, and I have gotten so much closer to God, but it's hard to be joyful in that when every single day I am doing absolutely nothing, and I have no friends, and I gave up my only hobby/passion because it was an idol.

Help me out here. "Stoicism says feelings aren't important at all". This is not accurate. But, stoicism welcomes feelings. To much feeling places the body out of alignment. Is this correct or is Pastor Warren just making an extreme point?

I need more of this I am hurting so much. Take hurt and channel it. Clean up my heart and guard my mouth. I need you Jesus every second.

Look at the Pyramids behind him! We don't learn to manage, we take it to the Lord in ALL THINGS. Are we supposed to be in touch with ourselves or the Lord? This is new age religion!

The bible does transform lives and can help us with our challenges and emotions only if we're humble and seek God's help..thank you for the encouragement.

Dear Pastor Rick Warren, thank you for this sermon. I am a returning Christian with ADHD, and emotional management is one of my weaknesses. Ive been considering seeking counselling and guidance, but thank you for teaching me that God is ultimately the one in control. I love the name it, challenge it, channel it strategy, and although I'm not into the Bible, I'm going to be very interested to know that Psalms is a place I can start to reference in regulating my emotional wellbeing. I'm going to ask God everyday to fill me with his Holy Spirit so that He can keep my heart in check.

    Thank you Pastor.

Sermon brings at 4:39 for those looking to get right to it! Such an interesting coincidence that I have been wondering how to overcome emotional turmoil and then this sermon pops up second on my YouTube. God is good!

Yesterday I listened to one of your sermons & prayed for God to enlighten my imaginary mind. Last night I dreamt I got very angry at an ice cream shop and threw the ice cream. ( I do not believe I would do that, I am a very patient person) So today this message was the second one of the day. So I am guessing my next test will be managing my emotions! Thanks God for the heads up & thanks pastor Rick for the guidance!
  • Thank you. This is one of the very best teachings I ever heard. Naming, challenging and positively redirecting feelings are the key to living a godly and successful life. I’m committed to let my pain fuel my ministry. Truly, God is able to turn every evil done to His people into good. Thank you God!!!
