Three Russian tankers were lucky to escape with their lives during a failed attack on the Ukrainian town of Terny. Drone footage captured the tank - which appears to be a T-80 - rolling into battle against the Ukrainian 60th, 63rd and 12th Azov Special Purpose brigades. After surviving drone strike and anti-tank rockets, the tank appears to hit a mine and throws a track - leaving it disabled on the battlefield. The crew of three decide to abandon ship, and are fortunate to dodge incoming Ukrainian rifle fire which can be seen pinging off the tank’s hull. At least one other tank and an armoured vehicle were not so lucky and were destroyed by the Ukrainians. Terny is located to the west of Keminna, a key forest area in the east of Ukraine where Russia has been trying to advance all winter.
While Putin’s men have made some gains in the area, they have failed to achieve a breakthrough and have captured little of strategic value despite months of hard fighting.
