Tchia is a delightfully chilled-out game about sailing around a beautiful archipelago, meeting lovely people, and generally having a really nice time.

  • "Just...become a creature that can breathe underwater!" Selects Dolphin
  • Ah, the magical fantasy world where dolphins can breathe underwater. :D

I like to think that this is Tchia's intimidation strategy. She's always calm, positive, helpful, and polite. But at the same time she doesn't hide her powers and over the course of the game, makes it very clear that she could destroy the entire island if she wanted to. I can see a parallel with Pratchett's witches: when one of them walks into your home and says "Blessings be on this house", you can't but think what else can be on this house if she wanted it to.
  • John as a delighted little crab running around wearing a flower was a standout wholesome moment for me.

As a caledonian I am really happy you played this game, I didn't expect to see references to the coutume or pilou and the landscapes and vegetation are pretty spot on too

Jon, her dad wasn't kidnapped. Tchia is his kid. So he was dadnapped.

It's beautiful, it's respectful of the cultures that inspired it, and you can possess birds and make them poop. 12/10 game of the year. 😄 Jon, please show us as much as you'd like.

I saw him turn into a bird, and saw the bird's special ability "poop", and went to add it to my wishlist

Jon: "I see a face. I see fire" My brain: "I see that which I desire!"
  • @aspacelex
The game really kicks into gear once you reach Australia.

I do so love it when a game that wasn't on my radar is pointed out by a Youtuber. This is now on my Steam Wish List, and here's hoping it doesn't take too long to lose it's console exclusivity.

"This is a nice and chill game!", he says, just as he was ejected from being a bird, now fallind down as a child with not enough stamina to glide anywhere... Good thing the game is generous with slowing down your fall if you just glide by the ground on your way down!
  • @Carrrnage
This is just lovely. Going on my must-play list. More please!
  • Already eaten two Mother Punga without any traumatic neurosurgery. That's a win in my books.
  • @simmonsjoe
No map pip for the player is actually a good idea. I like it.

5 minutes into the video and you've got me interested in the game. I'll be getting this when it becomes available.
  • All those magical powers AND the power of bureaucracy?? ...Are we sure this isn't her supervillain origin story?
