I like how violently these side loader trucks pick up the cans like they're angry at them or something lmao.

I feel like that robotic arm is a few stressful work days away from grabbing the nearest person and tossing them in the back to. So aggressive.

Respect to all the hard working refuse engineers out there. Thanks for all you guys do for us. God bless all of you. Stay safe! The last few clips taught me to not place the bins so close together, nor to let the bins overflow too much, and that non-government issued bins are not recommended for use. I'll refrain from doing those things from now on. I live in a house with lots of roommates, so I'll inform them as well. The easier and more pleasant we can make your day is important.

The Mega Disposal guy had me cracking up. Literally so much misfortune. Cussing the trash at 2:42 ๐ After the first few clips of him, I laughed harder at each one. The one where the entire can goes in the truck had me on the floor though

I worked on garbage trucks for a bit. The gentleman in the Mega truck has my respect. The whole purpose of the side loaded is to cut down on wear & tear on the body.

Itโs like reaching in the back of the fridge for that last can of beer at 2am.

I see 3 problems here in this video. (1) The bins are overloaded (not the garbo's fault) (2) The bins are super flimsy and poorly designed. (not the garbo's fault) (3) Bins are placed too closely together sometimes.

I drive a side loader garbage truck in Brisbane, Australia, and my god... the arms on these American ones have soooooooo much flex in them. Our lifters are in-line, not offset. It makes it a much smoother process for picking up bins, but also allows us to cleanly pick up bins that are almost touching each other. I can't imagine how painful these must be to operate.

I respect these guys so much. I pay for the extra recycling bin so i don't have loose bags in my regular trash. Tip these guys if you ever get a chance! โค

Some drivers in my city won't even try to pick up containers unless the lid is fully closed and most will ignore overstaked or overloaded trash cans.

Man , side loader garbage trucks take the whole Claw Machine thing to an entirely new level i bet that side load operators are experts at arcade claw machines LOL ๐๐๐คฃ

I will never grumble about my career again. Hats off to the guys who collect our rubbish.

Two things I learned from this: they need a camera on top so the driver can see the can being emptied and donโt overfill your trash can.

Sad to say but the homeowners are responsible for most of the trouble. You would think it would be common sense to space your cans out by a foot or more. Also, don't overfill your trash cans.

Where I live overloaded 'set up' or 'staged' bins are not emptied by the operators.

watching these videos gives me even more appreciation for garbage truck drivers
