euxaristo va ola... avrio puyainoume stin Ellada (dev Ellenika alphabet) kai grafela na proti fora. I have been studying some time now on my own and am excited to be going. I have been sending a couple of messages (1st time ever) in Greek to people we will meet there. I'm very pleased with myself. Thank you all.

"I don't want." is a good sentence to hear the difference. Δεν το θέλω.

Πολύ ωραία μπλούζα που φοράς εκεί Δημήτρη!
  • The fact that you put both English and Greek subtitles is great, I try to follow the Greek ones but for more difficult words I always have the option to "cheat" by looking at the English version. You don't find this at any other Greek language channel I know of on Youtube. That said, especially for the "SUPER Easy Greek" episodes - geared more towards beginners after all - I would strongly suggest you stick with simpler vocabulary! (as of now, there are a lot of advanced words). It is much more motivating and rewarding (in my opinion at least) if I can actually understand all, or at least most, of the conversation without ever looking at the English subtitles. (just as an example, I enjoy many of Linguatree's episodes exactly for this reason - I would rate myself at best at A2 level for comprehension and vocabulary, but I understand maybe 95% or more directly at first pass). On the other hand, speed is fine as it is easy to reduce it to e.g. 75% when it is still a bit too fast. Much easier to adjust than encountering too many unknown words.

Καλημέρα και ευχαριστώ για το βιντεο σας! Δίνει η Χριστίνα ιδιαίτερα μαθήματα στην Αθήνα? Που μπορώ να ενημερωθώ για μένα?

I'm speaker of Slavic language which is direct descendant of Greek yet Greek sounds so alien to me. Every time I hear it it's like Martians talking to each other xD
  • Del resto, per chi deve affrontare una prova di lingua e cultura spagnola, avere un feed con cose del genere a caso è più che indicato per la prova, e per la sua formazione.
  • A question about the semi-consonant "ya" after pi and kappa. Is that the case in all instances where there is a "-κια" and "-πια", or just some of the time? I ask because there are certain letters or letter combinations that seem to change, depending on the word, like "πήγε" and "πήγα" where the gamma is like a 'y' in the first and like a 'g' in the second. In both cases the gamma is surrounded by vowels, so I don't know what the determining factor is as to when gamma becomes 'y' or 'g'.
  • So, if my name is "Máximo" in spanish, does it turn into "Μάξιμος" with a sigma at the end? (Nominative of course)

Ευχαριστώ πολύ! Πολύ ενδιαφέρον! Στα ρωσικά δεν έχουμε ήχους Θ και Δ, για εμάς είναι πολύ δύσκολοι. Πολύ δύσκολες λέξεις όπου υπάρχει και Θ και Σ. Για παράδειγμα Θεσσαλονίκη😅
