This is different from my regular content, but I felt like challenging myself to make something new. But this also took a ton of effort so I don't know if I'll ever really do this type of thing again.

  • The most impressive thing in Mushoku Tensei is 100% the charecters. I can't remember a series with so many distinct characters each fully fleshed out with their own motives and problems, every single character has flaws and each Villain in the show gives the reader a chance to Empathize with them. Most importantly no matter how fast or slow the pacing is everything feels important in some way.

as a LN reader, this show hasn't even revealed its true forms yet. the real fun begins in next following seasons. can't wait.
  • Mushoku Tensei - the great granddaddy of the modern wave of second grade isekais. Honestly, this is THE isekai that got the genre right. Probably because it kind of pioneered the fantasy.

Its crazy since the story is still ongoing and there is a huge potential to be a sequel. Like the Old Dragon's Tale was released a few months ago and I wouldnt be surprised if he comes out with another side story/more lore.

This is different from my regular content, but I felt like challenging myself to make a video like this. Also it's worth noting that the problems I had with the pacing aren't as bad in the Light Novel, and are fairly non existent in the anime. So pacing is an issue mainly found in the web novel.
  • The last 2 volumes I hope should be fleshed out in the eventual adaptation. The final battle has serious Avengers Endgame vibes and Studio Bind should capitalize on that

Yeah, the " Post Masterpiece Depression" is real, man. I can't find any other story do things remotely as good as MT. Shitty story aside, It doesn't help that most "good story" start up strong , then just keep meandering to nowhere just to milk the popularity. LOL, I also play Ruina. To be fair, the game just keep throwing new game mechanic until the end game. And they do such a shitty job explaining them.

To think that the end of Mushoku tensei as a whole as being the first part of the Story line is amazing how there is a whole new story line getting made right now after the end of MT
  • @zukiechi
The light novel polishes the story draft that is the webnovel. Let's just hope Rifujin makes the already existing WN better than it already was, especially with LN7 and other original side-stories/details.

Ayyyy that's boss man. I read the whole light novel too after the anime. You ready to read all the after story content! And of course that prequel content too. But in any case, what would be your favorite moment without giving any spoilers to anyone that might leap into this video without have read the LN

All of the character of this anime mostly has a insane story. Ruijerd and his race, Who is Laplace?, Perugius, Man God, Dragon God Orsted, Zanoba, Nanahoshi, Cliff, Paul and his Party, Ghislaine, Elinalize, Zenith and her Family, Geese, even Pax 🤣. There's a Family Complex in Greyrat Family Politic really heavy How this world Work, Mage and Swordman Rank System, also have detail Sword Style (Sword God Style, North God Style, Water God Style) And the World it self have a story why there's a Demon, Beast People, and another race. And why every continent have really different vibes. Even there's a unique Magic from other Race like Migurdia that can use magic can telepath, and Beast People that can using unique magic Sound Magic. Even Orsted Dragon Race has a Unique magic that he use when he absorb Rudy Fire Magic. And the Multiple God and also Seventh Great Power. Mytholgy Refference And Past story like Laplace story that connect with our main character that try to help Ruijerd. When we get the complex story but our main character just want to live peacefully Even if our main character isn't reincarnated yet this world already have heavy history.

Putting the FF14 music at the end 👌 I just finished reading the whole story yesterday and I actually felt completely satisfied. No post-masterpiece depression which i’m actually really prone to. Im not a reader, never read a light novel before, and yet i read the entire thing, spending well over 100 hours cause I’m a slow reader. But i don’t regret any of it. Maybe this is recency bias but i enjoyed reading this story more than any other story i’ve read or watched. Mushoku really feels like an isekai simulator. I couldn’t believe how well thought out the story was with big plot twists at the end incorporating characters from the beginning. As if the author knew exactly how the story was gonna go from the very start to the very end. Like you said, if you see a gun it’s gonna go off at some point and that’s Mushoku 100%. “It polishes that rifle until it shoots a canon ball” By the way, if you’re experiencing that post-masterpiece depression, I highly recommend checking out the Mushoku Tensei Redundancy chapters. You can actually listen to them here on youtube where people have used almost human sounding text to speech programs to read it out to you so you can enjoy it w headphones while doing something else. Anyways, I really enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing your thoughts :D
  • Wouldn't be against more videos like this! Happy to see some branch-out content! 👌
  • There’s one plot point you wouldn’t think was anything more than just some tasteful background, but like 14 volumes later it screws over the main character

I totally agree with everything you said here. The part of MT that really sets it apart is that throughout the story, I constantly found myself wondering "who exactly is Rifujin that he can write such realistic characters with realistic personalities?" Every single character feels REAL, the world feels REAL, everything. I found myself making comparisons between these fictional characters and people I know in real life, then thinking "what would __ do in this scenario?" and it would play out as I thought. I even consulted some of these people I know IRL just to see if it was just my bias! It's seriously a masterwork among masterworks, and both the LN and anime are my absolute #1 favorites in their respective mediums.

Bruh, its the world building, characters and lore/history of that world that Really took me in. The 3 different sword styles, the 7 heroes who fought Laplace, the North God who defeated, married and had a baby with a Demon King, the 6 faced world, the great human-demon war 2000yrs ago when Kishisriku was the leader... So much, man. An Awesome fictional novel(s)

4:17 Dude I've been constantly saying this about Mushoku Tensei. Follows Chekhovs gun like crazy. Everything in the story is relevant, full of content and yet feels so well trimmed down and refined.
  • @lakshayrsg2414
I personally think 2 things that mushoku tensei did right or you can say it caught 1) World building and i dont need to say a lot about that 2) Family and relationships issues and causes- let me explain how. See this 1 thing that mushoku tensei grasp very strongly is our/viewers/humans tendency to always peak into someone else's life. We want to family issues or relationship issues of other persons. And that it has a lot. Re zero is amazing without a doubt but people could connect it to personal level. Even orsted has his own personal issues despite all other larger than life things.
  • Mushoku Tensei has some of the most gorgeous light novel illustrations I've ever seen!!! Especially the further in series you get!!!
  • @Luis-kv8zc
I don't understand why people say "the best of isekai" when it's honestly one of the best anime in general ! It has in-depth characters on par with Steins Gate, Sangatsu no Lion, and Code Geass. It's world building is the best I've seen in anime/novel/manga. And the ending is as fulfilling and warming as Clannad After Story and A Silent Voice. I would say my favorite anime is Clannad, but MT stands up there in my top 3 stories in weeb culture, alongside Steins Gate
