What is the Halo Beacon, how to use it, and does it work?

The Indoor Halo Beacon is a Bluetooth-enabled device that communicates with your dog's Halo Collar to convey the presence of a boundary.

There are three types of beacons:
Indoor (this comes with the kit)
Outdoor
USB powered

In this video, I will highlight the indoor beacon and show you how to set it up and how it works for indoor training and keep-away areas within your home.
Beacons can be placed anywhere! On a kitchen table, couch or office. You can set the range on the app to cover as much or as little space as you want. Outdoor Beacons can also be used in areas like flower beds or near a BBQ.

The other beacons that are new to their lineup also provide the same capabilities but will also provide a safe space to ignore a beacon and provide safe passage for your dog.

All beacons can be toggled on and off right in the app.

Question about becons "ignore fence" option/feature I have a doggy door so my girls have access to the house when I'm at work , I read that the collar has been reported to give false corrections when inside the home This is a problem , if I end up with this issue (have not purchased yet , still researching) , I really only have a issue while I'm at work , my girls are glued to my hip when I'm home , and ride with me everywhere when I'm not working I've had in ground invisible fence for 20 years , I have 7 acres of 32 acres wired , I'm tired of trouble shooting breaks though My question is , if you end up experiencing false corrections when the pups enter the home , can you use a beacon set on ignore fence setting in order to use as a override to negate any false corrections

Nice concept, but will this keep wild life away from your pet? fox. wolf? mountain lion, bear?

Does the number you select on the beacon determine it's radius? It does not determine its loudness or vibration strength?

I'm trying to decide if Halo is right for me. I have mini Aussies which keep getting on the sofa, but only when I'm not home. I want something that will keep them off. I don't want them to get shocked when they approach me which I'm on the sofa. They like to lay by my feet while I watch TV. Because of the circular transmit area I'm not sure this will work. I'm worried they'll get zapped when they come for pets, but won't get zapped if they sit on the sides of my sofa. I can see we might use the larger geo fencing option sometimes when we're camping but that's not an even day use. I mainly want it for indoor use. any suggestions on what would be best for this?

Would the beacon be useful to keep the dogs out of the cat box? Do I need one beacon per dog?
  • So helpful cause I was frustrated and could not get the beacon to alarm the collar
