Yet again this channel has proved to remain true in telling facts. The IIM Guy has never sugar-coated anything and has guided truthfully, always. Authenticity is your USP. This is the only reason as why I've subscribed this channel. Keep growing!

I only wish to open a coffee shop in my city, read books, travel and meet new people after the age of 40 whenever i’ll get time. Corporate is a trap.
  • @ranahosur
Life is all about needs and desires. If one doesn’t have control over desires will get trapped in corporate life. The Indian philosophy says Vaanaprastha at 50. It’s so wise and so relevant even today.

Now in IT industry there is no manager role. You have to do both technical and management.
  • @bryan69in2002
In Mumbai a 2 BHK in Goregaon costs 1.8-2.2 crs. The average age of buying a home is early to mid 30s. In any housing complexes this can be observed. Most people are paying almost 80k-1L EMI. They will have to pay their Bonuses for next 10-15 yrs for prepayment. Then expenses of kids and maintenance and car and education and going out and healthcare. By the age of 45 -48 is when an average person gets debt free. This is truth of people who are working nearby me who are in PwC, E&Y, Banks and Financial institutions. Even a VP level person who gets 5 lakh take home can at best buy a 3 bhk for 3.5 -5 crs in Mumbai. No matter how much salary you get for a salaried person it is nothing great in Mumbai. So if someone has a parental home or home bought 15 yrs ago then consider yourself lucky.

I am 32 and expect to save up to 3 cr by next 2 years. Thinking of leaving the corporate mess before I hit 35

What you mentioned in the video makes sense - However there are no more segregated roles anymore whether in Tech , Banking or even Consulting a managerial role and a tech role are co -existent now, its evolving and the level of management only kicks in at Executive Business Mgmt (Folks managing complete business lines or entities) level or 1 level below.
  • @vineetr5140
Pure manager roles except at executive level are fastest way to get fired and it’s a myth that you can’t be a technical person at 45+ , it’s true if you are in a service company but product companies demand deep experience.
  • Its opposite in IT companies.I think you work in Marketing / sales types of roles. One should be highly technical if you plan to survive in a technology /IT industry in a technical domain..Continuous technical skill upgrade (cloud, azure,ai, data science, cyber security, python,React JS,Angular JS) is a must, MBA is of very little use, unless it is related to sales and marketing types.Managers in IT are easily replacable in comparison to say Architect. Many times Managers salary will be less than the Architect reporting to him.Dont misguide the young people.
  • @Bobbaker007
One of the most sensible videos from this channel, extends beyond mba into general corporate life
  • @dsyoutube-q8w
Disagree with you w.r.t tech. Being in tech since the last 10 years, I have seen many technical architects becoming VPs, Directors etc without becoming managers. You mentioned saturation in technical roles but not managerial. Can everyone after 45 and MBA get managerial roles? The system is pyramidal and not everyone can get managerial roles.
  • Actually i want to be a teacher after 40 years. It’s ok for the low pay but at least i can do things i wish to do in my free time without worrying too much about work. I can invest my time in my hobbies. I’m already doing my masters in mathematics through distance(graduating 2024). Hoping to do B.ed too.

Please make video on 1 year MBA (Executive MBA) for people in late 20s. Is it preferable to do a full time MBA at such a age?
  • @abirbiswas3551
I appreciate #5 . Nobody talks about the importance of life stage when it comes to deciding WLB or salary. Thanks
  • @vivekdahiya7768
Hi Sir... Can you please tell me that which sector is according to you is best for the guy who wants to survive in corporate even after 45. Sectors like Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Supply Chain, or any other
  • Well, to begin with, specifically to the IT software industry, I still find many older people working who are 50+. But I'm not sure it's the same thing across other corporate industry domains. I will turn 45 this Dec 2023 and I am still working as a SAP Basis HANA consultant in a mid to almost senior role in Sydney, Australia (I have moved here permanently). Here in my office there are almost many people who are older than me. Some even are 68 years old. That's my personal experience and observation.

Hello..!! I have been a regular viewer of your video and have subscribed your channel after a good analysis of the content you include. I have completed my MBA from an average college in Bangalore. I do have almost five years of managerial experience in cooperative sector here in Nepal. I am still working with somewhere around 8 lakhs (INR) of package. How if I plan and start preparing for IIMB at this point of time? What would you suggest? Eagerly waiting for your suggestion. Love from Nepal..
  • You dont have complete fact, it is not only technical people only work on systems, data or coding...even you can grow in technical line with architect roles, senior architects, executive architect roles - it depends how much you are adding values to your organization - age no bar
