I have a suggestion for this news story: how about asking directly the people why they quit?
-
Has anyone thought that maybe they don't like what they see in the Dallas PD?
-
Gets a better offer, everyone shocked she did what was right for her!
-
"Our new hires don't stay on when we fail to offer them competitive pay for dangerous and stressful work! What an outrage!"
-
So you are claiming it costs 10 grand per month to train these cops using other cops? I'd like to see a breakdown of the costs
-
Perhaps she didn’t want to be part of legalised organised crime?
-
Paying them more is cheaper than having to retrain a new recruit.
-
Wait you can get 10-20K extra just a town over... hmmmm makes sense to me
-
Well in her defense, Allen is a much safer city than Dallas and the pay is much better than DPD

I went through the academy in Georgia in 1993. Even back then, we had to sign a contract that said we could not go to work for another law enforcement agency within two years without paying the city back for the expense. It was less than $3,000. I can see inflation, but $90,00? That's more than a year's tuition at a major Ivy league university. Insane. Follow the $$.

2:14 Ding ding ding! There’s your answer to why they’re leaving genius! You don’t pay well. Boy, that was a tough case to crack. Now, I wonder what you can do to get your recruits to stay. Hmmmmm... that’s another tough one.
-
So dallas doesn't like to pay fire or police well, now they can't understand why theyd leave hmph..
-
"...higher paying departments in the suburbs." Well, Dallas, can you solve the puzzle, or do you need another spin?
-
I don’t why they think people should just work for scraps and be “happy you have a job” when there are other places that will hire you for more money. We’re millennials, we’ve seen how these jobs have slaved our parents and then at the last minute when they’re about to retire, cut them so they lose their retirement, pension, whatever they have planned for their years of hard work. They’re just upset that we’ve learned to play the game better than them
-
The people quit and left because they wanted to, there’s nothing wrong with that and it’s not illegal.
-
Sounds like they should pay them more so they dont want to jump ship for higher paying jobs
-
Could mean two things: boost your pay or clean up ranks
-
The other part of this whole story is that instead of finding and asking her they allowed the entity she left behind to set the narrative and they decided the narrative should be more money for them and their cronies. That's like allowing your most selfish, narcissistic, bitter ex to speak on your behalf in your current relationship.

Smart woman. They start off at 45k a year. I made double that carrying mail my first year. But what do i know.

Do something you love or you'll be miserable. I learned that the hard way.
