How to Get a Timed Reservation to enter Arches National Park in 2024. & when you don't need one

Published 2024-02-22
In our on going efforts to help you explore the West. This short video helps you visit Moab's most popular park.

Arches NP is so popular, the Parks Service needs to reduce overcrowding and they are doing this with a Timed Entry Reservation Ticket system. from Apr 1 to Oct 31 you need one of this tickets to enter the park between 7am and 4 pm.
I walk you through the special website that has been created to purchase these tickets for $2. They are valid for only one hour on the given day. And they are good for only that day. Multi-day trips require multiple reservations.

I also show you how to purchase your Annual parks pass on-line to speed the entry line at the gate.

I was in this absolutely gorgeous National Park in 1992! And in 1997, 1999, 2005 and 2012 - boy was it easy and relaxed back then.
  • Thanks again, I got 4 days of passes for June. first timer. goal is at least 5 new national parks this year.

Thank you for the explanation of how to go about getting the timed entry ticket. Part of me thinks it's a shame it has come down to this in order to keep the crowds a bit more manageable. I do believe that if it helps thin the crowds overrunning Moab a bit than it is a good thing.

100000000000000000000000000000 thanks for sharing this; I just realized I only have half a day for my plan. But it is better than nothing!

Thank you. Your videos are awesome. You have a real talent for this. Boy has the world changed. When did it get so crowded. ?

Thanks for this, been planning a visit in early May and wasn't aware. Funny enough the last 2 times I entered the park were after 4pm and before 7am so it wouldn't have mattered. Are the other NPs in canyon country implementing reservations now?

I may have missed it, but is your entry time the time you arrive at the gate or when you get to the back of the line to enter?
  • If the money went back into the park you visited I wouldn’t have such an issue with it. Our country is selling out our own national parks. It’s ridiculous!,=(
