This is incredibly well made, your editing is awesome! You deserve to be way more popular with this much effort put into your videos.

One of the reasons the dub in the game is very good is because this was the first DB game made with the west in mind (Atari the western publisher published most of the 2000s DBZ games). Budokai was essentially meant to be the revival of the Butoden series to capitalize on the renewed popularity due to the dub. This is also why the Buu saga wasn’t included till the sequel as it was still airing at the time. Naturally since this game was catering to the west, the localization team got a larger budget which included new lines to fit lip flaps and actual voice direction that was superior to even the dub back then. RIP Toriyama

I really enjoyed your use of the CRT for some of the footage. It stood out to me, enough to warrant a comment. "Now that is what I remember!". I had completely forgotten about the plagiarism issue. I think the devs really nailed the "you're watching a condensed version of the TV shows scene's" and this + a decent fighting game is what caused me to sink hours into this as a kid.
  • This game was also my introduction to Dragon Ball. I spent many hours in my childhood playing this game and even nowadays I come back to it on occasion to relive some of my nostalgia. No matter how many problems this game might have, it will always hold a special place in my heart. R.I.P. Akira Toriyama

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1 aka Dragon Ball Z Part 1 for the PlayStation 2 in Japan, introduced by Cartoon Network in 2002 is literally Dragon Ball Z itself but 3D. There's a reason why it's special and why TOM from Cartoon Network's Toonami talked about it. It's a Holy game.

The game isn’t very good, but at least it set the foundation for Budokai 2 and more importantly, the best DBZ game ever, Budokai 3. It also has that fucking awesome OST, even if it is plagiarized.

Pretty cool Budokai video, and totally agree with everything you said, except the english DBZ dub. To be honest, growing up you can definitely see the cracks in it and to me is nowhere near a perfect or even pretty good dub imo; especially if for "dub" we are talking about the whole package, meaning music, script, interpretation, censorship, editing, etc. If that's the case, again for me, the DBZ dub is serviceable at best. Tbh, I even prefer the dub from this game than the anime. It's more well acted and the script is way more close to the og version. Still, great video man, keep it up!
