In this one Bryan and I discuss Hair Metal in the year 1987... and, surprise, surprise, "Appetite For Destruction" leads the way. However, there were a ton of great releases during this year, so come along for the ride as we discuss one of the great years in Hair Metal History!

I've always considered 1987 my favourite year of music. I was at gigs every week, life was great, I was 19, still had my hair! Awesome times.

Man, I'm glad I found this channel!
  • Hair nation on Sirius needs to give you guys a morning show. You two have a really good chemistry together. I’m cracking up over here. I hadn’t heard about the cult in forever. Great band.

Crazy Nights will always be my favorite KISS album. I love all the era's of KISS but Crazy Nights was the first KISS I ever heard and the chorus in Crazy Nights or Turn On The Night pump me up to this day like its my first time hearing them. Absolutely love the first Faster Pussycat album, I love the first Tigertailz album....but I am more of a fan of Kim Hookers vocals over Steevi Jaimes.

"Don't know what you got" has 180 million views on Youtube. I think that's kind of impressive for a genre that was written off for so long.

lol trying not to comment all through your video, this will be the last one. Jack Russel and Tracii Guns put out a CD together and it was disappointing that Russel had writing credits on one song only, Tracii had none. HOWEVER, auto tuned or not, this is the best I’ve heard Russel sound since leaving GW. Really a surprisingly great CD. Keep up the good work guys, been enjoying your videos!

I have always loved Alice Cooper's Raise Your Fist and Yell album. Freedom should have been a huge hit. The second half of that album is a masterpiece.

I'm a bit stunned Bryan knows about Bonfire! One of my fave bands, the first track I heard from them was Hard On Me from the 3rd album Point Blank, saw it on our Headbangers Ball. Our MTV was MTV Europe so we had different presenters and shows, we had some of the American shows direct, like Remote Control and some of the music shows. Our Headbangers Ball was presented by a German gal Kristiane Backer, (my 3rd love) and our Headbangers Ball was mostly European bands, so we had Europe, Scorpions, Helloween, TNT, etc... and Bonfire, another German outfit! Of course we heard about the big American bands also. So I got their 3rd album first then got their first 2. The 1st album Don't Touch The Light was a bit hit and miss but Fireworks was absolute dynamite!! Some serious good tracks on that! Best being Don't Get Me Wrong and Fantasy. The intro, main riff and solo on Don't Get Me Wrong have no business being that good!!! The whole album is a blitzkrieg........ (Too soon??? 😏) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9Uf12pePuU

Was going to mention Love Is For Suckers but someone else already did. Another good one and it didn’t sell either but Autograph-Loud and Clear

I know you hate the Use Your Illusion albums, but I'd recommend re-listening to Use Your Illusion II. The album is almost 76 minutes long and has some amazing songs IMO. Civil War, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Breakdown, Pretty Tied Up, Locomotive (massively underrated), Estranged (my fav song ever), You Could Be Mine (overplayed, I know), and Don't Cry (alt lyrics). This is right up there with Appetite as one of my favorite albums of all time. As a whole, I enjoy it more than Use Your Illusion I.

I was like 10 , and heavily into Moltey Crue . This ( think May) would be the year of Girls 3 . Seeing that video , the bikes the strip bars , them going from drag queens on TOP to these bikers with razor stubble . I still love Girls record . All in the Name Of , All I Need , Dancing Glass , Bad Boy Boogie . Girls was a big time rebound from Theatre 🎭. White Lion debut was fantastic . Was this the year Bang Tango came out .. Faster Pussycat were killer , and would make a masterpiece on the second record . Seeing them on the Decline Western Civilization Doc , I started to follow them. Still dig parts of Whipped ..

Always enjoy when HBB is on! A few honorable mentions for me: Lion- Dangerous Attraction, Treat- Dreamhunter, EZO - S/T, Lizzy Borden - Visual Lies, and Rock Candy - Sucker For a Pretty Face (only heard this album in the last 5 years, but its very catchy). I also gotta mention Malice - License to Kill, definitely on the heavier side, but I think most hair metal fans would love this album. Other amazing heavier albums that are my favorites from this year include those by Savatage, Warlock, Running Wild, King Diamond, Helloween etc.

If anyone's looking to step up their screen presence backgrounds, give the Guru a shout. He's got more rock memorabilia than the rock and roll hall of fame. He hooked me up big time with plaques and posters. Thanks G.
