In 1993, a young Sal Vulcano came to me and said he wants to learn standup. I made him wax my car and paint my fence for 6 years. Eventually he realized I wasn’t a good teacher and I was just using him for house chores. The anger he felt that day is what made him a comic. Am I god? Yes. Am I a loving friend? God has no friends. Sal, if you’re reading this, my kitchen needs mopping. Hahahahahaha. I wasted your life!

I was in the second row for this special (I see the back of me and my boyfriends head a lot) and I will say that the laughter that was in this special was not put in there just for the video! The audience was this electric, and so was Sal! He is such a presence on stage, and is so great at connecting with people (as impractical jokers showed)! I’m so glad I saw this show in Chicago and I’m laughing just as hard the second time watching. We love you Sal!!

I love how Sal always seems on the verge of busting out laughing at his own jokes. That little wavery quality to his voice just makes his stories seem even more real and hilarious.

This is what happens when a comedian doesn’t rush to release a special. He put in the work, trimmed those jokes down, added in the tags, the act outs, the pauses. It was masterful!! ✨✨✨
