Avec Sorcery & the Mystical Gate of Reincarnation, Kataklysm pose en 1998 la première pierre d’un sound endiablé, reposant sur une grande sophistication technique. Une marque de fabrique qui perdure à ce jour. Le groupe perce définitivement en 2002 avec Shadows and Dust. Depuis, le groupe suscite l’enthousiasme des fans et adeptes de la scène death metal, mais aussi d’autres pointures du genre. Les Canadiens ont annoncé de nouveaux morceaux pour août 2023. Avec un peu de chance, les festivaliers du Summer Breeze en auront la primeur !

In 2003, I hung out with JF and Mauricio for an hour before a show. They closed out the set with the awakener. Temple of Knowledge is my favorite album of all time. Mauricio let me sing a large part of the song. That performance earned me a spot in a signed band. Good times. Mauricio and JF were super cool.
