  • Maybe one day DK and Lukie can merge into Dukie games and live up to their reputation.
  • Lukie games sold me a GameCube that broke within a year and it turns out it was full of dead roaches and excrement…
  • @Plumtopia
Pokemon games are already overvalued for how much they sold, but $260 is almost triple the already overpriced cost
  • The Transfer Pak does not work on 3rd party Controllers, you need an official controller for the transfer pak to work. Its one of the only add ons that needs official hardware

Lukie tagline: "A fool and his money are soon parted."
  • @SmokeyEdits
"we're doing our best not to be found out, like using a credit card with my name on it, using a pseudonym that's extremely identifiable, and also having half the order shipped to our other employee whose name is also known" i'm starting to think y'all need to rethink your anonymity strategies here

you know you bout to get the best quality stuff from a company called. "Lukie Games" 💀
  • Calling them worse than dkoldies is going too far imo. Pricing aside, At least everything you purchased worked. Half the stuff from dkoldies doesn’t even function properly
  • Not a very popular game? My ass, that game's servers only recently went down.

Over the past couple of months, I've amassed a small collection of 70 or so NES games from various sources: Gamestop, Lukie Games, eStarland and various eBay sellers. 2 of the 4 I got from Lukie Games were the only 2 of the entire 70 that gave me so many problems (on both my top loader NES and front-loader with a brand new 72-pin) that I nearly gave up on them before finally getting them to work after like a dozen re-inserts and multiple cleanings. Gamestop has been surprisingly solid when a game you're looking for is actually in-stock, and eStarland was by far the most reliable. That's my story.

FYI (and I am sure someone else probably mentioned this already), the top loader NES originally came with dogbone controllers that look more like SNES controllers and are significantly less common than the original NES controllers you received with your unit. As a collector, I'd be furious if I ordered a top loader and did not get the top loaded controllers with it.

Interestingly, Lukie Games actually won an ebay auction of mine for a couple of SNES games. I imagine the games are going to show up at their next owner's in the same condition I had them.
  • @PieStudios
That transfer pak probably didn’t work because of that third party controller

Japan is like the last place they have reasonable prices for retro games, because they know this stuff isn't rare at all. Like Nintendo DS is one of the most popular handheld ever.
  • @jeffclark5206
I am pretty sure their website dynamically adjusts the prices to get the max possible. So if something goes unsold for X time they decrease till it sells and if its popular they increase it until it stops selling and then drop it back down.
  • @psychorabbitt
The name is legit spelled as if it's pronounced "Luke-y" games.
  • @IceKicker18
Ive bought so many games from Lukie games and they always come in grest condition, never ever had a problem with them.
  • you know why the price jumped up right? they are probably using a "dynamic system" depending on if one sold recently and current inventory it is set to up the price and "decay" back down to there minimum. (or they are even more specific to users identified profile to make them feel like they got a better deal and/or get more out of future sales)

I was right there with him dancing to the Pokémon Stadium music. It brings me back 20+ years baby!
